ارتفعت أسعار الديزل في الولايات المتحدة إلى أكثر من 5 دولارات للجالون للمرة الأولى منذ ديسمبر 2022، وسط استمرار حرب إيران في تعطيل الإمدادات، ما يضيف ضغوطاً جديدة على قطاعات واسعة ضمن أكبر اقتصاد في العالم.
وبلغ متوسط سعر التجزئة على مستوى البلاد 5.044 دولار للجالون، وفقاً لبيانات جمعية السيارات الأمريكية (AAA)، مسجلاً تسارعاً في ارتفاع سعره منذ بدء الصراع.
وقد أدت الحرب إلى شبه توقف لإمدادات الوقود والنفط الخام والغاز الطبيعي والأسمدة من الخليج العربي، في ظل بقاء مضيق هرمز مغلقاً فعلياً أمام حركة الشحن.

وفي بعض الولايات الأمريكية، تجاوزت أسعار الديزل بالفعل مستوى 5 دولارات، كذلك صعدت أسعار زيت التدفئة المنزلي -الذي يُعد عملياً بديلاً مكافئاً للديزل- فوق 5 دولارات أيضاً، بحسب إدارة معلومات الطاقة الأمريكية.
وبالنسبة للرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، فإن استمرار ارتفاع أسعار الوقود لفترة مطولة قد يضغط على فرص الجمهوريين في انتخابات التجديد النصفي المقررة بوقت لاحق من هذا العام.
ويُعد الديزل شرياناً حيوياً لقطاعات الشحن والزراعة والبناء في الولايات المتحدة، وأي قفزة في أسعار التجزئة ستنعكس على الاقتصاد الأوسع.
وارتفع سعره بوتيرة أسرع من معظم المنتجات النفطية الأخرى؛ نظراً لأن مصافي التكرير في الخليج العربي تُعد من الموردين الرئيسيين لهذا الوقود.
Diesel prices in the United States have risen to over $5 per gallon for the first time since December 2022, amid the ongoing Iran war disrupting supplies, adding new pressures on wide sectors within the world's largest economy.
The national average retail price reached $5.044 per gallon, according to data from the American Automobile Association (AAA), marking an acceleration in its price increase since the conflict began.
The war has led to a near halt in fuel, crude oil, natural gas, and fertilizer supplies from the Arabian Gulf, as the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed to shipping traffic.
Vital Lifeline
In some U.S. states, diesel prices have already surpassed the $5 mark, and home heating oil prices—which is practically an equivalent alternative to diesel—have also risen above $5, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
For President Donald Trump, the continued rise in fuel prices for an extended period could pressure Republican chances in the midterm elections scheduled later this year.
Diesel is a vital lifeline for the shipping, agriculture, and construction sectors in the United States, and any spike in retail prices will reflect on the broader economy.
Its price has risen at a faster pace than most other petroleum products, as refineries in the Arabian Gulf are among the main suppliers of this fuel.
