شهد مطار العاصمة النيبالية كاتماندو، اليوم (الإثنين)، حالة استنفار بعد اندلاع حريق في أحد إطارات طائرة تابعة لشركة الخطوط الجوية التركية، عقب هبوطها قادمة من إسطنبول، ما أدى إلى إغلاق المطار لمدة ساعة تقريباً كإجراء احترازي.
وقالت هيئة الطيران المدني في نيبال إن جميع ركاب الطائرة البالغ عددهم 277 راكباً، إضافة إلى 11 من أفراد الطاقم، تم إجلاؤهم بأمان عبر مخارج الطوارئ، دون تسجيل أي إصابات.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم الهيئة، غيانيندرا بهول، أن الحريق اندلع في الإطار الخلفي الأيمن للطائرة من طراز Airbus A330 بعد هبوطها في مطار كاتماندو الدولي، مشيراً إلى أن فرق الإطفاء تمكنت من السيطرة على النيران سريعاً قبل سحب الطائرة إلى ممر جانبي داخل المطار وإيقافها عن الخدمة مؤقتاً.
من جانبها، أكدت شركة الخطوط الجوية التركية رصد تصاعد دخان من نظام عجلات الهبوط أثناء تحرك الطائرة على أرض المطار، موضحة أنها بدأت تحقيقات فنية لمعرفة أسباب الحادثة.
وقال نائب رئيس الشركة لشؤون الاتصالات يحيى أوستون إن التقييمات الأولية تشير إلى أن الدخان نتج عن خلل فني في أحد الأنابيب الهيدروليكية للطائرة.
وأضافت الشركة أنها رتبت رحلة إضافية لإعادة الركاب ومواصلة سفرهم بعد تعليق الطائرة المتضررة لإجراء الفحوصات الفنية اللازمة.
The airport in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu, witnessed a state of alert today (Monday) after a fire broke out in one of the tires of a Turkish Airlines aircraft upon landing from Istanbul, leading to the airport being closed for approximately one hour as a precautionary measure.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal stated that all 277 passengers on board, along with 11 crew members, were safely evacuated through emergency exits, with no injuries reported.
The authority's spokesperson, Gyanendra Bhul, explained that the fire broke out in the right rear tire of the Airbus A330 after it landed at Kathmandu International Airport, noting that firefighting teams were able to control the flames quickly before towing the aircraft to a side taxiway within the airport and temporarily grounding it.
For its part, Turkish Airlines confirmed that smoke was observed rising from the landing gear system while the aircraft was moving on the airport ground, stating that it has initiated technical investigations to determine the cause of the incident.
The company's Vice President for Communications, Yahya Oston, said that initial assessments indicate that the smoke resulted from a technical malfunction in one of the aircraft's hydraulic pipes.
The company added that it arranged an additional flight to repatriate the passengers and continue their journey after suspending the affected aircraft for necessary technical inspections.
