وذكرت «بلومبيرغ» عن مصادر على دراية بالأمر أن مدير المجلس الاقتصادي الوطني في البيت الأبيض وكبير المستشارين الاقتصاديين للرئيس كيفن هاسيت، هو الخيار المرجح لخلافة باول.
وفي الأسبوع الماضي، ذكر وزير الخزانة الأمريكي «سكوت بيسنت» الذي أشرف على عملية الاختيار أن «ترمب» قد يعلن مرشحه لرئاسة الفيدرالي قبل عطلة الكريسماس في الخامس والعشرين من ديسمبر الجاري.

Trump stated to reporters aboard Air Force One yesterday (Sunday), "I know who I will choose, yes, we will announce that," according to Bloomberg, anticipating that his nominee will implement interest rate cuts.
Bloomberg reported from sources familiar with the matter that the Director of the National Economic Council at the White House and the President's chief economic advisor, Kevin Hassett, is the likely choice to succeed Powell.
Last week, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Pruitt, who oversaw the selection process, mentioned that Trump may announce his nominee for the Federal Reserve before the Christmas holiday on December 25 of this year.
