أكد وزير السياحة السعودي أحمد الخطيب أن المملكة استقبلت 116 مليون سائح خلال عام واحد، أنفقوا نحو 260 مليار ريال، ما يعكس النمو الكبير للقطاع السياحي في المملكة.
وأضاف أن فنادق عالمية مثل سلسلة "هيلتون" ستضاعف استثماراتها، وأن المملكة تبني أكثر من 200 ألف غرفة فندقية لتلبية الطلب المتزايد، وفقا لـ"العربية".
وأشار إلى اتفاقيات دولية لتعزيز التدفقات السياحية، مثل زيادة عدد السياح الصينيين إلى مليون زائر، بالإضافة إلى الربط الجوي بين 20 مدينة سعودية والعالم.
كما أبرز تحول القطاع نحو تمكين المرأة، حيث وصلت نسبة النساء العاملات في السياحة إلى 46% من القوى العاملة.
Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb confirmed that the Kingdom welcomed 116 million tourists in one year, who spent about 260 billion riyals, reflecting the significant growth of the tourism sector in the Kingdom.
He added that international hotels like the "Hilton" chain will double their investments, and that the Kingdom is building more than 200,000 hotel rooms to meet the increasing demand, according to "Al-Arabiya".
He pointed to international agreements to enhance tourism flows, such as increasing the number of Chinese tourists to one million visitors, in addition to air connectivity between 20 Saudi cities and the world.
He also highlighted the sector's shift towards empowering women, as the percentage of women working in tourism reached 46% of the workforce.
