أكد نقيب الصيادين في قطاع غزة نزار عياش أن الخسائر التي لحقت بقطاع الصيد البحري في القطاع نتيجة عدوان الاحتلال تجاوزت 75 مليون دولار، محذراً من انهيار هذا القطاع الحيوي الذي يُعد مصدر الدخل الرئيسي لآلاف العائلات.
وأوضح عياش في تصريحات اليوم أن القصف الإسرائيلي أدى إلى تدمير شامل للبنية التحتية للموانئ البحرية، ومن ذلك ميناء غزة الرئيسي وميناء شمال القطاع، إلى جانب أضرار لحقت بنحو 70% من مرافق الموانئ في المنطقة الوسطى والجنوبية.
قيود مشددة
وأضاف أن الدمار طال المراكب ومعدات الصيد ومخازن التخزين، فضلاً عن فقدان أدوات الملاحة والاتصال، فكان من الصعب على الصيادين استئناف عملهم أو إصلاح ما تبقى من ممتلكاتهم في ظل الإمكانيات المحدودة.
وأشار إلى أن السلطات الإسرائيلية لا تزال تفرض قيوداً مشددة على حركة الصيد داخل المياه الإقليمية لقطاع غزة، إذ يسمح فقط بالإبحار لمسافات قصيرة باستخدام قوارب صغيرة، وهو ما يقلص حجم الإنتاج اليومي بشكل كبير.
تفاقم الأوضاع الاقتصادية
وأفاد عياش بأن القوات الإسرائيلية اعتقلت عدداً من الصيادين أثناء عملهم في عرض البحر، رغم عدم تشكيلهم أي خطر أمني، عادّاً هذه الإجراءات تزيد معاناة العاملين في هذا المجال.
وحذر نقيب الصيادين في القطاع من أن استمرار تعطل الموانئ وغياب التعويضات قد يؤديان إلى تفاقم الأوضاع الاقتصادية والمعيشية لآلاف الأسر التي تعتمد بشكل كامل على مهنة الصيد، في وقت يعاني فيه القطاع الساحلي من حصار طويل الأمد وارتفاع في معدلات البطالة والفقر، داعياً المجتمع الدولي والمنظمات الإنسانية إلى التدخل العاجل لإعادة إعمار موانئ الصيد وتعويض المتضررين.
The head of the fishermen's union in the Gaza Strip, Nizar Ayyash, confirmed that the losses incurred by the fishing sector in the area due to the occupation's aggression have exceeded 75 million dollars, warning of the collapse of this vital sector, which is the main source of income for thousands of families.
Ayyash explained in statements today that the Israeli bombardment has led to the complete destruction of the infrastructure of the seaports, including the main port of Gaza and the northern port of the sector, in addition to damage to about 70% of the port facilities in the central and southern regions.
Strict Restrictions
He added that the destruction has affected the boats, fishing equipment, and storage facilities, as well as the loss of navigation and communication tools, making it difficult for fishermen to resume their work or repair what remains of their possessions under limited capabilities.
He pointed out that the Israeli authorities continue to impose strict restrictions on fishing activities within the territorial waters of the Gaza Strip, allowing only short-distance sailing using small boats, which significantly reduces daily production.
Deteriorating Economic Conditions
Ayyash reported that Israeli forces have arrested several fishermen while they were working at sea, despite them posing no security threat, considering these measures to increase the suffering of those working in this field.
The head of the fishermen's union in the sector warned that the continued disruption of the ports and the absence of compensation could lead to a worsening of the economic and living conditions for thousands of families who rely entirely on fishing, at a time when the coastal sector is suffering from a long-standing blockade and rising rates of unemployment and poverty, calling on the international community and humanitarian organizations to urgently intervene to rebuild the fishing ports and compensate the affected individuals.
