أكد وزير الطاقة السعودي الأمير عبدالعزيز بن سلمان أن السعودية تواصل تنفيذ مشروعها الوطني للطاقة النووية بجميع مكوناته، بالتعاون مع الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية، بما في ذلك بناء أول محطة للطاقة النووية في المملكة.
وأضاف خلال الدورة الـ69 للوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية في العاصمة النمساوية فيينا اليوم (الإثنين)، أن المملكة تدرك أهمية تعزيز قدرات الاستجابة للطوارئ النووية.
وأكد أن الاستثمار في المواهب والكفاءات الوطنية يمثل مفتاح النجاح والمملكة تتعاون مع وكالة الطاقة لتمكين القدرات الشابة، وأن السعودية تستعد لاستضافة المؤتمر الدولي لمستقل للطوارئ النووية والإشعاعية من 1-4 ديسمبر.
قدرات الاستجابة
وأوضح وزير الطاقة أن السعودية تدرك أهمية تعزيز قدرات الاستجابة للطوارئ النووية وتسعى دائما إلى دعم التعاون مع الوكالة للاستفادة من الطاقة النووية.
وأشار إلى أن المملكة عملت على استكمال مقومات الاستعداد الإداري المتعلقة بالعمل الرقابي النووي والوفاء بتحقيق متطلبات الالتزام باتفاق الضمانات الشاملة.
وتأمل السعودية أن يسهم مشروعها الوطني في نقل المعرفة والتقنية، وتتطلع أن تكون قدوة ونموذجا يحتذى بها.
وتشارك مدن الطاقة الذرية والطاقة النووية في النمسا، لمناقشة الاستخدامات السلمية للطاقة النووية وتعزيز التعاون الدولي.
وتُعقد مؤتمرات أخرى مختلفة تابعة للوكالة مثل المؤتمر الدولي لتطبيقات الإشعاع (ICARST-2025)، والمؤتمر الدولي حول الطاقة النووية المعيارية الصغيرة (SMNPR-2024).

The Saudi Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, confirmed that Saudi Arabia continues to implement its national nuclear energy project with all its components, in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, including the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the Kingdom.
He added during the 69th session of the International Atomic Energy Agency in the Austrian capital, Vienna today (Monday), that the Kingdom recognizes the importance of enhancing nuclear emergency response capabilities.
He affirmed that investing in national talents and competencies is the key to success, and the Kingdom is cooperating with the Agency to empower young capabilities. He also mentioned that Saudi Arabia is preparing to host the International Conference on Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Management from December 1-4.
Response Capabilities
The Minister of Energy explained that Saudi Arabia understands the importance of enhancing nuclear emergency response capabilities and is always seeking to support cooperation with the Agency to benefit from nuclear energy.
He pointed out that the Kingdom has worked to complete the administrative preparedness components related to nuclear regulatory work and to meet the requirements of the comprehensive safeguards agreement.
Saudi Arabia hopes that its national project will contribute to the transfer of knowledge and technology, and it aspires to be a role model and an example to be followed.
Nuclear energy and power cities in Austria are participating to discuss the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to enhance international cooperation.
Other various conferences affiliated with the Agency are being held, such as the International Conference on Radiation Applications (ICARST-2025) and the International Conference on Small Modular Nuclear Power (SMNPR-2024).
