اليابان: أمريكا تؤكد خفض الرسوم الجمركية على السيارات

The United States confirmed that it will end the imposition of comprehensive global tariffs on Japan and will reduce tariffs on cars as it has already promised, according to statements from Japan's chief trade negotiator, "Ryoshi Akazawa."

Akazawa met yesterday (Thursday) with U.S. Secretary of Commerce "Howard Lutnick" and Treasury Secretary "Scott Pisent," which alleviates some of the uncertainties regarding the details of the trade agreement reached between Japan and the United States last July, which reduces the tariffs imposed on U.S. imports from Japan to 15%, including cars.

Akazawa stated, as reported by "Bloomberg," that no timeline has been agreed upon for implementing the agreements, but no official comment has been made by the U.S. side regarding the recent meetings.

Japan has faced higher-than-expected comprehensive tariffs as part of the new wave of tariffs imposed by the "Trump" administration on Thursday, and although the extent of the discrepancy is minor, this confusion has sparked renewed criticism of Prime Minister "Shigeru Ishiba."

Akazawa clarified, saying: "We confirmed that when the U.S. side takes action to review the executive order on comprehensive tariffs, it will issue another order to reduce tariffs on cars and their parts, and we will continue to urge the U.S. side by all available means and channels to achieve that."
