خصص الاتحاد الأوروبي مبلغ 638 مليون يورو؛ لتمويل مشاريع الطاقة المتجددة في أفريقيا، في خطوة إستراتيجية تستهدف تسريع التحول الأخضر عالميًا، ضمن إطار حزمة الاستثمار الأوروبية - الأفريقية.
ويُعدُّ هذا التمويل جزءًا من مبادرة أفريقيا - الاتحاد الأوروبي للطاقة الخضراء (AEGEI)؛ التي تهدف إلى إضافة ما لا يقل عن 50 جيجاوات من القدرات الجديدة لتوليد الكهرباء المتجددة، بما يعود بالنفع على أكثر من 100 مليون شخص في القارة.
مشاريع متنوعة
ويغطي التمويل الأوروبي مشاريع متنوعة في مجالات الطاقة الشمسية، والرياح، والهيدروجين الأخضر، منها برنامج «GEED» في الصومال بقيمة 40.5 مليون يورو لدعم الطاقة الخضراء والتنمية الاقتصادية، إلى جانب مشروع لإنشاء محطة شمسية بقدرة 85 ميجاوات مع محللات كهربائية للهيدروجين الأخضر في ناميبيا.
ويدعم الاتحاد الأوروبي مشاريع أوّلية في الطاقة المائية الصغيرة والرياح والطاقة الحرارية عبر آليات، مثل: صندوق الطاقة المتجددة لأفريقيا (AREF)، وصندوق الطاقة المستدامة لأفريقيا (SEFA).
The European Union has allocated an amount of 638 million euros to finance renewable energy projects in Africa, in a strategic move aimed at accelerating the global green transition, as part of the European-African investment package.
This funding is part of the Africa-European Union Green Energy Initiative (AEGEI), which aims to add at least 50 gigawatts of new renewable electricity generation capacity, benefiting more than 100 million people on the continent.
Diverse Projects
The European funding covers various projects in the fields of solar energy, wind, and green hydrogen, including the "GEED" program in Somalia, valued at 40.5 million euros, to support green energy and economic development, along with a project to establish a solar power station with a capacity of 85 megawatts with electrolyzers for green hydrogen in Namibia.
The European Union supports initial projects in small hydropower, wind, and thermal energy through mechanisms such as the Africa Renewable Energy Fund (AREF) and the Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA).
