أعلنت شركة بيلاتوس لصناعة الطائرات السويسرية، اليوم (الجمعة)، تعليق تسليم طائراتها من طرازي PC-12 وPC-24 إلى الولايات المتحدة مؤقتاً، وذلك بسبب الرسوم الجمركية الأمريكية الجديدة التي تبلغ 39%، والتي تضع الشركة في وضع تنافسي غير مواتٍ.
وتُعد الولايات المتحدة سوقاً رئيسية للشركة، إذ تستحوذ على نحو 40% من إنتاجها السنوي من هذين الطرازين.
وأوضحت الشركة، التي يقع مقرها في ستانس بوسط سويسرا، أن الرسوم الجمركية الجديدة التي فرضتها السلطات الأمريكية تشكل عائقاً تنافسياً كبيراً، مضيفة أن هذه الرسوم ستؤدي إلى توقف مؤقت في عمليات التسليم وبالتالي تعطيل الأعمال في السوق الأمريكية.
وتأتي هذه الخطوة بعد قرار مفاجئ من الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بفرض رسوم جمركية مرتفعة على البضائع السويسرية، مما أثار صدمة في سويسرا ودفع المسؤولين إلى مواصلة المحادثات لتخفيف هذه الحواجز التجارية.
وتواجه «بيلاتوس» تحديات كبيرة بسبب التكاليف الإضافية الهائلة والميزة التنافسية المتضررة مقارنة بالمنافسين الأمريكيين والأوروبيين، مما تسبب في حالة من عدم اليقين بين عملائها.
وأشارت الشركة إلى أنها تدرس إعادة توجيه طائرات PC-12 وPC-24 إلى أسواق أخرى، مع تسريع خططها لتوسيع الإنتاج المحلي في الولايات المتحدة، بما في ذلك إنشاء مصنع تجميع جديد في ساراسوتا، فلوريدا.
وأكدت «بيلاتوس» التزامها بحماية وظائف موظفيها البالغ عددهم أكثر من 3 آلاف موظف، مشيرة إلى أنها قد تلجأ إلى تقليص ساعات العمل أو تعديل قوتها العاملة من خلال التقليص الطبيعي في حال استمرار الوضع.
وأكدت الشركة أن خدماتها في الولايات المتحدة، مثل الصيانة، لن تتأثر بهذا التوقف.
The Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus announced today (Friday) a temporary suspension of deliveries of its PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft to the United States due to new U.S. tariffs of 39%, which place the company in an unfavorable competitive position.
The United States is a key market for the company, accounting for about 40% of its annual production of these models.
The company, based in Stans in central Switzerland, explained that the new tariffs imposed by U.S. authorities represent a significant competitive barrier, adding that these tariffs will lead to a temporary halt in deliveries and thus disrupt business in the U.S. market.
This move follows a surprise decision by U.S. President Donald Trump to impose high tariffs on Swiss goods, which caused shock in Switzerland and prompted officials to continue talks to ease these trade barriers.
Pilatus is facing significant challenges due to the enormous additional costs and the damaged competitive advantage compared to American and European competitors, resulting in uncertainty among its customers.
The company indicated that it is considering redirecting PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft to other markets, while accelerating its plans to expand local production in the United States, including establishing a new assembly plant in Sarasota, Florida.
Pilatus confirmed its commitment to protecting the jobs of its more than 3,000 employees, noting that it may resort to reducing working hours or adjusting its workforce through natural attrition if the situation continues.
The company assured that its services in the United States, such as maintenance, will not be affected by this halt.
