كشف الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم أنه سيفرض رسوماً جمركية نسبتها 25% على واردات بلاده من اليابان وكوريا الجنوبية في أولى رسائله إلى الشركاء التجاريين للولايات المتحدة قبيل انقضاء المهلة التي حددها للتوصل إلى اتفاق.
في رسالتين شبه متطابقتين إلى قادة اليابان وكوريا الجنوبية، قال ترمب: «إن التعرفات ستطبق اعتباراً من الأول من أغسطس القادم؛ لأن علاقاتهما التجارية مع واشنطن كانت للأسف بعيدة كل البعد عن المعاملة بالمثل».
وكان وزير الخزانة الأمريكي سكوت بيسنت قد قال: «من المقرر أن نعلن عن عدة صفقات تجارية خلال الـ48 ساعة القادمة»، وسيلتقي نظيره الصيني خلال الأسابيع القادمة.
وقال سكوت بيسنت الأحد: «إن الولايات المتحدة باتت قريبة من التوصل إلى عدة اتفاقيات تجارية، وذلك قبل حلول الموعد النهائي في 9 يوليو، الذي من المقرر أن تبدأ فيه رسوم جمركية أعلى على بعض الشركاء التجاريين».
وأوضح وزير الخزانة الأمريكي، في مقابلة مع شبكة CNN، أن إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ستقوم أيضاً بإرسال رسائل إلى نحو 100 دولة صغيرة لا تربطها بالولايات المتحدة علاقات تجارية كبيرة، لإبلاغها بأنها ستخضع لمعدلات التعريفة الجمركية المرتفعة التي تم فرضها في 2 أبريل، ثم تم تعليقها حتى 9 يوليو الجاري.
يذكر أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب قد توعد مجموعة «بريكس» بفرض رسوم جمركية إضافية بنسبة 10% على الدول التي تتبنى سياساتها.
وكتب ترمب على منصته «تروث سوشيال»: «أية دولة تصطف مع سياسات مجموعة بريكس المعادية لأمريكا سيتم فرض رسوم جمركية إضافية عليها بنسبة 10%. ولن تكون هناك استثناءات لهذه السياسة».
وأكد ترمب في منشور آخر أنه سيبدأ بإرسال أول دفعة من الرسائل إلى دول عدة في أنحاء العالم لحضها إما للتوصل إلى اتفاق تجاري أو مواجهة فرض رسوم باهظة على سلعها.

President Donald Trump revealed today that he will impose a 25% tariff on imports from Japan and South Korea in his first messages to the United States' trade partners ahead of the deadline he set for reaching an agreement.
In nearly identical letters to the leaders of Japan and South Korea, Trump stated: "The tariffs will take effect starting August 1; unfortunately, their trade relations with Washington have been far from reciprocal."
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Pisent said, "We are set to announce several trade deals within the next 48 hours," and he will meet with his Chinese counterpart in the coming weeks.
Scott Pisent said on Sunday: "The United States is close to reaching several trade agreements, ahead of the deadline on July 9, when higher tariffs are set to begin on some trade partners."
The U.S. Treasury Secretary explained in an interview with CNN that President Donald Trump's administration will also send letters to about 100 small countries that do not have significant trade relations with the United States, informing them that they will be subject to the high tariff rates imposed on April 2, which were then suspended until July 9.
It is worth noting that President Donald Trump has threatened the "BRICS" group with an additional 10% tariff on countries that adopt its policies.
Trump wrote on his platform "Truth Social": "Any country that aligns with the anti-American policies of the BRICS group will face an additional 10% tariff. There will be no exceptions to this policy."
