Today, the Gulf-American Arbitration Forum kicked off in the U.S. capital, Washington, organized by the Commercial Arbitration Center for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, with the participation of a select group of experts and representatives from international arbitration institutions, in addition to an official delegation from the GCC countries.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Commercial Arbitration Center, Dr. Kamal bin Abdullah Al-Hamad, confirmed that the forum represents a strategic platform to enhance cooperation bridges with international partners and is an important occasion to highlight the developments taking place in the Gulf arbitration system.

He pointed out that the forum reflects the center's vision of openness to the global arena, providing services characterized by efficiency, neutrality, and flexibility, which support the investment environment in the Gulf region.

He added: "We are keen to provide an opportunity for professionals from both sides to exchange views on the challenges and opportunities in the field of commercial arbitration, amid the increasing reliance on this path for resolving international commercial disputes."

The forum's program will include discussion sessions addressing topics such as the impact of arbitration on the investment system, the role of arbitration centers in enhancing the business environment, in addition to reviewing developments in arbitration legislation in the Gulf Arab states.

The forum aims to enhance cooperation between the GCC countries and the United States in the fields of commercial dispute resolution, exchange experiences with major arbitration centers and legal institutions, in addition to discussing the latest developments in alternative dispute resolution methods.
