يخصص مهرجان الجونة السينمائي في دورته الثامنة برنامجًا احتفاليًا بمئوية المخرج المصري الكبير يوسف شاهين، التي تحل في 25 يناير 2026، تقديرًا لإرثه السينمائي الخالد وإسهاماته البارزة التي أثرت في أجيال متعاقبة من صناع السينما عربياً وعالمياً.

ويتضمن البرنامج عرضًا استعاديًا لأحد أبرز أفلام شاهين، إلى جانب باقة مختارة من أعمال لمخرجين استلهموا من فنه ورؤيته، على أن يكشف المهرجان قريبًا عن تفاصيل قائمة الأفلام وجدول عروضها.
ويأتي هذا التكريم ليجدد التأكيد على مكانة يوسف شاهين كأحد أعمدة السينما العربية، والأب الروحي لموجة جديدة من صناعها، وصوت إبداعي حر جمع بين الجرأة الفنية والالتزام المجتمعي.

يُذكر أن الدورة الثامنة من مهرجان الجونة السينمائي ستقام في الفترة من 16 حتى 25 أكتوبر القادم، وتشهد تكريم الفنانة المصرية منة شلبي بمنحها جائزة الإبداع الذهبي تقديرًا لمسيرتها السينمائية المميزة، إذ قدّمت أكثر من 40 فيلمًا تعاونت خلالها مع كبار المخرجين، ومن المنتظر أن يحضر فعاليات المهرجان عدد كبير من نجوم الفن في مصر والعالم العربي.
The El Gouna Film Festival dedicates its eighth edition to a celebratory program for the centenary of the great Egyptian director Youssef Chahine, which falls on January 25, 2026, in appreciation of his immortal cinematic legacy and his prominent contributions that have influenced successive generations of filmmakers both Arab and worldwide.

The program includes a retrospective screening of one of Chahine's most notable films, along with a selected collection of works by directors inspired by his art and vision, with the festival set to reveal details of the film list and screening schedule soon.
This honor reaffirms Youssef Chahine's status as one of the pillars of Arab cinema, the spiritual father of a new wave of filmmakers, and a free creative voice that combined artistic boldness with social commitment.
Honoring Menna Shalaby
It is worth mentioning that the eighth edition of the El Gouna Film Festival will take place from October 16 to 25, and will honor the Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby by awarding her the Golden Creativity Award in recognition of her distinguished cinematic career, during which she has presented more than 40 films and collaborated with major directors. A large number of stars from the arts scene in Egypt and the Arab world are expected to attend the festival's events.
