حين كانت الصحافة الفنية في المملكة تخطو خطواتها الأولى كان علي فقندش واحداً من الأسماء التي آمنت بأن الفن رسالة ثقافية تستحق الحضور والاهتمام. ومنذ بداياته المهنية اختار أن يخصص قلمه لمتابعة الحركة الفنية ليصبح أحد أوائل الصحفيين السعوديين الذين كتبوا عن الفنون بمختلف أشكالها وأسهموا في توثيق مسيرتها ومواكبة تحولاتها.

وأكتب هذه الكلمات من واقع تجربة شخصية أعتز بها، فقد كان علي فقندش أول من منحني ثقته وفتح أمامي أبواب الصحافة الثقافية والفنية وشجعني على خوض هذا المجال، وأتاح لي مساحات للكتابة، وظل يوجهني ويحفزني كلما احتجت إلى رأي أو نصيحة، وما حققته لاحقاً في هذا الميدان كان لعلي فقندش فيه فضل البدايات، وهي شهادة أوثقها وفاء لرجل آمن بالموهبة وساند أصحابها بإخلاص ومحبة.

He conducted dozens of interviews with icons of art and culture in the Kingdom, the Gulf, and the Arab world, presenting a model of a journalist who approaches the human aspect before fame and seeks value before headlines. He did not limit himself to written journalism; his experience extended to producing art programs and presenting several television works, where he stood out as a calm interviewer with a broad artistic culture who skillfully managed dialogues in a refined manner, giving his guests space to express themselves and providing viewers with content that combines enjoyment and knowledge.
Throughout his career, Ali Faqandish played a prominent role in discovering talents and presenting them to the media and artistic scene, earning him the well-deserved title of "star maker." He provided me with opportunities to write and continued to guide and motivate me whenever I needed an opinion or advice. What I later achieved in this field owes much to Ali Faqandish for those initial beginnings, and this is a testament I document in loyalty to a man who believed in talent and sincerely supported its bearers with love.
Thus, Ali Faqandish remained more than just an art journalist or a television interviewer; he is one of the pioneers of art media in the Kingdom and a living memory of many long years of creativity, leaving a human and professional impact that extended to generations of artists, journalists, and writers. As much as he created stars, he also created sincere love in the hearts of all who knew him and worked with him, a status that is not made by positions but is created by ethics, sincerity, and loyalty to the profession and humanity.
