تعرّف زوار معرض جدة للكتاب 2025 على أسس بناء القصة الجذابة وعناصر التشويق في السرد، في ندوة حوارية بعنوان «صناعة حكاية مشوّقة»، تحدّث فيها الدكتور وليد الشعلان، وأدارها عبدالعزيز بن حميد، ضمن البرنامج الثقافي الذي امتد على مدى 10 أيام، بتنظيم من هيئة الأدب والنشر والترجمة، وسط حضور لافت من الكتّاب والمهتمين بالأدب وصناعة المحتوى السردي.
وأكد الشعلان أن التشويق يُعد من الركائز الأساسية لأي عمل أدبي ناجح، مشيراً إلى أن القصة الجيدة تحتاج إلى سرد واعٍ يُحسن إدارة الأحداث وبناء الشخصيات، ويحافظ على انتباه القارئ منذ البداية حتى النهاية.
وأوضح أن طرائق السرد شهدت تحوّلات واضحة في العصر الحديث، نتيجة تطور الوسائط وتنوّع أشكال التلقي، وذلك ما يفرض على الكاتب مرونة أسلوبية ووعياً بأدواته الفنية، مؤكداً أن الوصول إلى عمل مشوّق لا يعني بالضرورة صلاحيته للتحويل السينمائي، إذ تبقى بعض الأعمال أكثر تأثيراً حين تظل في فضاء الكتاب.
ووجّه نصيحة للكتّاب الشباب بعدم التردد أو الخجل من طرح نصوصهم ومناقشتها، مشدداً على أهمية خوض التجربة الإبداعية بوصفها سبيلاً لصقل الموهبة، وتوسيع دائرة التأثير.
وتحدّث عن تجربته الشخصية في تحويل أحد أعماله إلى فيلم سينمائي، واصفاً إياها بالتجربة الملهمة، التي فتحت له باب التعرف من قرب إلى عالم السينما، ووسّعت أفقه الإبداعي.
واستعرض عدداً من أعماله الأدبية، متناولاً المراحل التي مرّت بها منذ الفكرة الأولى حتى النشر، وصولاً إلى تحويل بعضها إلى أفلام وثائقية، إلى جانب إصداراته العلمية، في تجربة تجمع بين السرد الأدبي والعمل البحثي.
وجاءت الندوة ضمن الفعاليات الختامية لمعرض جدة للكتاب 2025، الذي أنهى أعماله بعد 10 أيام من الحراك الثقافي المتنوّع، مؤكّداً دوره منصةً جامعة للمعرفة، ومجالاً رحباً لتلاقي الأدب والفكر والإبداع، بإشراف وتنظيم من هيئة الأدب والنشر والترجمة.
Visitors to the Jeddah Book Fair 2025 learned about the foundations of building an engaging story and elements of suspense in narration during a panel discussion titled "Crafting an Exciting Tale," featuring Dr. Walid Al-Shaalan, moderated by Abdulaziz bin Hamid, as part of a cultural program that spanned 10 days, organized by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, with a notable attendance from writers and those interested in literature and narrative content creation.
Al-Shaalan emphasized that suspense is one of the essential pillars of any successful literary work, noting that a good story requires a conscious narration that skillfully manages events and builds characters, maintaining the reader's attention from beginning to end.
He explained that narrative methods have undergone clear transformations in the modern era due to the evolution of media and the diversity of reception forms, which imposes on the writer stylistic flexibility and awareness of their artistic tools, affirming that achieving an exciting work does not necessarily mean it is suitable for cinematic adaptation, as some works remain more impactful when they stay within the realm of the book.
He advised young writers not to hesitate or feel shy about presenting and discussing their texts, stressing the importance of engaging in the creative experience as a means to refine talent and expand the sphere of influence.
He talked about his personal experience in adapting one of his works into a feature film, describing it as an inspiring experience that opened the door for him to closely explore the world of cinema and broadened his creative horizon.
He reviewed several of his literary works, discussing the stages they went through from the initial idea to publication, leading to the adaptation of some into documentary films, alongside his scientific publications, in an experience that combines literary narration and research work.
The panel was part of the closing events of the Jeddah Book Fair 2025, which concluded its activities after 10 days of diverse cultural engagement, affirming its role as a unifying platform for knowledge and a welcoming space for the convergence of literature, thought, and creativity, under the supervision and organization of the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission.
