The "Knowledge Guide for the 95th National Day," recently issued by the King Abdulaziz Foundation, presents a comprehensive picture of the history of the Saudi state, showcasing rare stories and moments that reveal the depth of the national experience from the era of the founding king to the present. The current edition is distinguished by highlighting several notable events associated with the kings' journey and their efforts in serving the homeland and religion, making the guide a rich and reliable knowledge record.
Among the prominent stories that the guide dedicates a special space to is the story of King Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him – with the Black Stone in 1932. After one of the stolen pieces of the Black Stone was returned to the Grand Mosque, the founding king decided to personally take responsibility for returning it to its place in the Holy Kaaba. He entered the Grand Mosque amidst crowds of scholars and locals, holding the precious piece with reverence, first advancing to pray at the Station of Ibrahim, then confidently walking towards the Kaaba to place the stone with his own hands in its original location. The scene was majestic in all its details: a leader affirming through his action that serving the Two Holy Mosques is a trust before it is an honor, and that protecting the sanctities is a message that has accompanied the Saudi state since its inception. This moment has become an eternal symbol in the national and Islamic memory, combining religious awe and political greatness, reflecting the image of the founding king as a unifying leader and guardian of the sanctities.
In addition to this story, the guide contains other testimonies about the efforts of the kings of the Kingdom in establishing the pillars of the state, reforming society, and launching the development journey that has reached its peak today under King Salman and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It also includes documents, images, and events that shed light on the major transformations the country has undergone, making the guide a knowledge resource that documents national memory and instills in generations the value of belonging and pride in their history.
The "Knowledge Guide for the National Day" also includes original historical documents, updated information, and reliable figures that reflect the scale of the transformations witnessed by the Kingdom in various fields. Its content is rich with words and excerpts from the journeys of leaders and kings, alongside precise testimonies that preserve and document the details of events for future generations. The guide fundamentally affirms the status of the King Abdulaziz Foundation as the memory of the nation, possessing a historical archive and accredited sources that make it an indispensable reference for researchers and those interested in the history of the Saudi state and its cultural depth.
