تنظم مكتبة الإسكندرية الدورة الـ20 من معرضها الدولي للكتاب خلال الفترة من 7 إلى 21 يوليو 2025، بالتعاون مع الهيئة المصرية العامة للكتاب واتحاد الناشرين المصريين والعرب. ويُقام المعرض في مقر المكتبة الرئيسي بالإسكندرية، إضافة إلى بيت السناري بحي السيدة زينب وقصر خديجة بحلوان.
واختارت مكتبة الإسكندرية المفكر المغربي ووزير الخارجية السابق محمد بن عيسى، عضو مجلس أمناء المكتبة السابق الذي توفي في مارس 2025، ليكون شخصية المعرض لهذا العام تكريمًا لإسهاماته.
وأوضح الدكتور أحمد زايد، مدير مكتبة الإسكندرية، أن المعرض يستقطب 78 دار نشر مصرية وعربية، مع تخصيص جناح للطفل يضم أكثر من 15 دار نشر متخصصة في كتب الأطفال، وجناح آخر للكتب القديمة والنادرة على غرار سور الأزبكية، مؤكدًا حرص المكتبة على استضافة أبرز دور النشر وتوفير أحدث الإصدارات.
ويصاحب المعرض برنامج ثقافي غني يشمل أكثر من 215 فعالية ثقافية بمشاركة حوالى 800 متحدث ومحاضر، تتنوع بين مؤتمرات وندوات وورش عمل، وتتناول هذه الفعاليات محاور اجتماعية تدعم الشباب والمرأة والطفل، إلى جانب محاور ثقافية تركز على التراث، الشعر، الأدب، التكنولوجيا، علم النفس، والرياضة.
كما يتضمن البرنامج ورش عمل لتعليم فنون السرد بأنواعه المختلفة، وعروضًا علمية وترفيهية وفلكلورية على ساحة بلازا المكتبة.
ويشهد المعرض توزيع جوائز مسابقة القراءة الكبرى يوم الخميس 17 يوليو في القاعة الكبرى بمركز مؤتمرات المكتبة، بحضور نخبة من الكتاب والمفكرين.
وتشارك المكتبة بـ33 إصدارًا جديدًا تشمل كتبًا، كتالوجات، دوريات، مجلات، وكتيبات من سلسلة «تراث الإنسانية للنشء والشباب» التي بلغت 80 كتيبًا، إلى جانب رصيد إصداراتها البالغ 1109 عناوين.
ومن أبرز العناوين الجديدة: كتاب «الإرهاب والجريمة المنظمة والهجرة: دراسة سوسيولوجية للتقاطعات الراهنة» الصادر عن مركز الدراسات الاستراتيجية، وكتاب «حجر رشيد.. استعادة لغة قدماء المصريين» الصادر عن مركز دراسات الخطوط، والعدد السابع من دورية «علوم المخطوط» الصادرة عن مركز ومتحف المخطوطات، والعدد الثالث من دورية «قبطيات سكندرية» الصادرة عن مركز الدراسات القبطية، وكراسة «السرد المصري في العقد الأول من الألفية الثالثة» الصادرة عن مختبر السرديات، ومجلة «ذاكرة مصر (العدد 56)» الصادرة عن المكتب الفني بمكتب مدير المكتبة، وكتالوج «أحمد عبد الوهاب.. في حرم السكون» الصادر عن إدارة المعارض والمقتنيات الفنية، وكتاب «أعمال ندوة زكي نجيب محمود.. الفيلسوف الأديب» الصادر عن قطاع التواصل الثقافي، وكتيبا: «حسن فتحي.. مهندس الهوية المعمارية المصرية»، و«رسالة في التسامح.. فولتير» من سلسلة تراث الإنسانية للنشء والشباب.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing the 20th edition of its International Book Fair from July 7 to 21, 2025, in collaboration with the Egyptian General Book Organization and the Egyptian and Arab Publishers Union. The fair will be held at the main headquarters of the library in Alexandria, in addition to the Beit El-Sennari in the Sayyida Zeinab district and the Khadija Palace in Helwan.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has chosen the Moroccan thinker and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Ben Issa, a former member of the library's Board of Trustees who passed away in March 2025, to be the personality of the fair this year in honor of his contributions.
Dr. Ahmed Zayed, the Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, explained that the fair attracts 78 Egyptian and Arab publishing houses, with a dedicated children's section featuring more than 15 specialized publishers in children's books, and another section for old and rare books similar to the Azbakeya Wall, emphasizing the library's commitment to hosting prominent publishing houses and providing the latest releases.
The fair will be accompanied by a rich cultural program that includes more than 215 cultural activities with the participation of around 800 speakers and lecturers, ranging from conferences and seminars to workshops. These activities will address social themes supporting youth, women, and children, alongside cultural themes focusing on heritage, poetry, literature, technology, psychology, and sports.
The program also includes workshops to teach various narrative arts, as well as scientific, entertainment, and folkloric performances on the library plaza.
The fair will witness the distribution of the Grand Reading Competition awards on Thursday, July 17, in the main hall of the library's conference center, in the presence of a select group of writers and thinkers.
The library will participate with 33 new publications, including books, catalogs, periodicals, magazines, and booklets from the "Heritage of Humanity for Youth and Young Adults" series, which has reached 80 booklets, in addition to its total of 1,109 titles.
Among the most notable new titles are: the book "Terrorism, Organized Crime, and Migration: A Sociological Study of Current Intersections" published by the Center for Strategic Studies, the book "The Rosetta Stone: Restoring the Language of Ancient Egyptians" published by the Center for Script Studies, the seventh issue of the "Manuscript Sciences" journal published by the Center and Museum of Manuscripts, the third issue of the "Alexandrian Coptology" journal published by the Center for Coptic Studies, the booklet "Egyptian Narration in the First Decade of the Third Millennium" published by the Narratives Laboratory, the magazine "Memory of Egypt (Issue 56)" published by the Technical Office of the Library Director's Office, the catalog "Ahmed Abdel Wahab: In the Realm of Silence" published by the Exhibitions and Art Collections Department, the book "Proceedings of the Zaki Naguib Mahfouz Symposium: The Philosopher Writer" published by the Cultural Communication Sector, and the booklets: "Hassan Fathy: Engineer of Egyptian Architectural Identity," and "A Letter on Tolerance: Voltaire" from the Heritage of Humanity for Youth and Young Adults series.
