أعلن الدكتور رضا الوكيل اعتذاره عن استكمال مهامه رئيسًا لدار الأوبرا المصرية، في خطوة جاءت بعد تصريحاته خلال المؤتمر الصحفي الخاص بالدورة الـ34 من مهرجان ومؤتمر الموسيقى العربية وما تبعها من ردود فعل وانتقادات من عدد من الموسيقيين والفنانين.
وكشف الوكيل عن قراره في رسالة نشرها عبر حسابه الشخصي على «فيسبوك»، تحدث خلالها عن تجربته داخل الدار وما سعى إلى تغييره خلال فترة توليه المسؤولية.
تغييرات داخل دار الأوبرا
واستند الوكيل خلال رسالته جانبًا من الفترة التي قضاها في رئاسة دار الأوبرا، مشيرًا إلى أنه حاول خلال فترة قصيرة تعديل عدد من السلوكيات والممارسات التي لم يكن يتقبل استمرارها، مؤكدًا أنه نجح في تغيير بعض الأمور التي رأى ضرورة إصلاحها.
وأوضح أنه كان يتمنى استكمال فترة تعيينه، لكنه اختار الاعتذار عن المنصب، مشددًا على تمسكه بمواقفه المتعلقة بالاختيارات الفنية، وقال: «لن أقبل أن يتحكم أحد في اختياراتي لفنان مصري أقف معه لثقتي في موهبته الكبيرة وحب الجمهور المصري له».
لا أرغب في خلافات
وفي الوقت نفسه، أكد أنه لا يريد أن يتحول موقفه إلى خلاف مع أي طرف، قائلاً إنه لا يرغب في أن يكون سببًا في مشكلات أو خصومات مع أصدقائه وزملائه، قائلاً: «لن أكون سببًا في مشكلات مع أحد أو عداء بيني وبين أصدقائي الداعمين لأحد».
رسالة إلى زملائه
وفي ختام رسالته، وجه رضا الوكيل الشكر إلى زملائه على ثقتهم به، مؤكدًا رغبته في مواصلة الوجود داخل دار الأوبرا المصرية بصفته فنانًا وصديقًا، من خلال المشاركة في الأعمال الفنية التي يتم تكليفه بها، متمنياً التوفيق للجميع.

In his message, El-Wakeel reflected on part of the time he spent as the head of the opera house, noting that he attempted to modify several behaviors and practices that he could not accept continuing, emphasizing that he succeeded in changing some matters he deemed necessary to reform.
He explained that he had hoped to complete his term, but chose to resign from the position, stressing his commitment to his stances regarding artistic choices, stating: "I will not accept anyone controlling my choices for an Egyptian artist I stand by due to my confidence in their great talent and the love of the Egyptian audience for them."
I Do Not Wish for Conflicts
At the same time, he affirmed that he did not want his stance to turn into a conflict with any party, saying that he did not wish to be the cause of problems or disputes with his friends and colleagues, stating: "I will not be the cause of problems with anyone or enmity between me and my friends who support someone."
