The Artistic Works Control Authority, headed by Abdel Rahim Kamal, has withdrawn the license for the screening of the film "The Gathering Butcher" from cinemas, halting its showing until further notice, despite the film's release and its good earnings on the first days of its screening, after obtaining a license just three days prior.

The creators of the film "Confessions of the Gathering Butcher" were shocked by the decision to withdraw its screening license. The film stars Ahmed El Fishawy, is written and directed by Mohamed Salah El Azab, and produced by Ahmed El Sobky. It had begun screening in cinemas just hours earlier.

The Artistic Works Control Authority removed the film from theaters and notified all cinemas of the decision, leading to its withdrawal, even though some audience members had already seen it.

The decision by the authority came due to the discrepancy between the filmed version and the text that had been approved for screening, as well as the film containing violent scenes that the relevant authorities deemed a violation of the licensing conditions.

Mohamed Salah El Azab, the film's writer and director, expressed his shock at the decision through his official account on the social media platform "Facebook," writing: "What God has decreed has happened... After obtaining all the legal, governmental, and security licenses and permits for writing, filming, and screening the film, a sudden decision comes to remove it from cinemas after it was shown in all the shows on the day of the stand."

The writer and director revealed that the film had achieved high earnings during the hours it was screened, considering what happened a new precedent.
