كشف مهرجان البحر الأحمر السينمائي الدولي برنامج «اختيارات عالمية» لدورته الخامسة، الذي يجمع نخبة من أبرز أفلام 2025 التي نالت إعجاب الجماهير والنقاد في المهرجانات العالمية، وتعرض للمرة الأولى في المنطقة.
يشمل البرنامج 9 عروض أولى في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، إلى جانب فيلمين مصريين يُعرضان للمرة الأولى في المملكة العربية السعودية.
الأفلام العالمية
ضم البرنامج فيلم KOKUHO الياباني، المرشّح لجائزة الأوسكار، وفيلم GIRL أولى تجارب النجمة الآسيوية شو تشي الإخراجية، والفيلم الفرنسي الرواندي KWIBUKE, REMEMBER بطولة سونيا رولاند، وفيلم ERUPCJA الذي تقود بطولته المغنية العالمية تشارلي إكس سي إكس.
كما يشمل البرنامج فيلم الأكشن THE FURIOUS من إنتاج بيل كونغ، وفيلم NORMAL من إخراج بن ويتلي وبطولة بوب أودينكيرك، الفيلم السويسري المرشّح للأوسكار LATE SHIFT الذي يستعرض حياة ممرضة في يوم حافل بالتحديات، وفيلم SAIPAN الذي يعيد التذكير بكواليس ملفّ كأس العالم لعام 2002.
بالإضافة إلى فيلم PRIMAVERA الذي يصطحب الجمهور في رحلة إلى مدينة البندقية في القرن الثامن عشر، والفيلم البرازيلي الفائز في مهرجان كان السينمائي THE SECRET AGENT للمخرج كليبير ميندونكا فيلهو.
ويقدّم البرنامج فيلمين مصريين بارزين حصدا إشادة واسعة في المهرجانات العالمية، هما: فيلم «المستعمرة» (The Settlement) للمخرج محمد رشاد، وفيلم «كولونيا» (My Father’s Scent) للمخرج محمد صيام؛ وكلاهما يغوص في أعماق العلاقات الأسرية وتعقيداتها، ويركّز على موضوع الأبوة من زوايا إنسانية مؤثرة وبأداءات تمثيلية لافتة.
وأكد الرئيس التنفيذي لمؤسسة البحر الأحمر السينمائي الدولي فيصل بالطيور بأن برنامج «اختيارات عالمية» يجسّد موسما سينمائيا فريدا هذا العام، ويجمع 12 فيلمًا تألقت في كُبرى المحافل السينمائية، وانتقاها فريق المهرجان بعناية، لنقدّمها لجمهورنا هنا في قلب جدة التاريخية؛ إيمانًا منّا بدور المهرجان في مدّ الجسور بين الشرق والغرب، وتقديم تجارب سينمائية تُثري المشهد الثقافي، وتُعزّز مكانة المملكة كوجهة سينمائية رائدة.
The Red Sea International Film Festival revealed the "Global Selections" program for its fifth edition, which brings together a selection of the most prominent films of 2025 that have captivated audiences and critics at international festivals, and will be screened for the first time in the region.
The program includes 9 premieres in the Middle East and North Africa, along with two Egyptian films being shown for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Global Films
The program features the Japanese film KOKUHO, nominated for an Oscar, and the film GIRL, the directorial debut of Asian star Shou Chee, as well as the Rwandan French film KWIBUKE, REMEMBER starring Sonia Roland, and the film ERUPCJA, led by global singer Charli XCX.
It also includes the action film THE FURIOUS produced by Bill Kong, the film NORMAL directed by Ben Wheatley and starring Bob Odenkirk, the Swiss Oscar-nominated film LATE SHIFT, which showcases the life of a nurse on a challenging day, and the film SAIPAN, which reminds us of the behind-the-scenes of the 2002 World Cup.
Additionally, the program presents the film PRIMAVERA, which takes the audience on a journey to 18th century Venice, and the Brazilian film THE SECRET AGENT, directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, which won at the Cannes Film Festival.
The program features two prominent Egyptian films that have received wide acclaim at international festivals: "The Settlement" directed by Mohamed Rashad, and "My Father's Scent" directed by Mohamed Siam; both delve into the depths of family relationships and their complexities, focusing on the theme of fatherhood from touching human angles and featuring remarkable performances.
The CEO of the Red Sea International Film Foundation, Faisal Baltyour, affirmed that the "Global Selections" program embodies a unique cinematic season this year, bringing together 12 films that have shone at major cinematic events, carefully selected by the festival team, to present them to our audience here in the heart of historic Jeddah; believing in the festival's role in bridging the East and West, providing cinematic experiences that enrich the cultural scene, and enhancing the Kingdom's position as a leading cinematic destination.
