كشف مهرجان البحر الأحمر السينمائي الدولي عن قائمة الأفلام الدولية المشاركة في مسابقة البحر الأحمر للأفلام القصيرة، ضمن فعاليات دورته الخامسة التي تُقام في قلب جدة التاريخية «البلد» خلال الفترة من 4 إلى 13 ديسمبر.
وتضم قائمة الأفلام المشاركة في المسابقة أحد عشر فيلمًا دوليًا قصيرًا من دول آسيا وأفريقيا، تشمل جنوب أفريقيا، وماليزيا، والصين، وجمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية، وقيرغيزستان، وتشاد، والهند، وجورجيا، وكينيا، ولأول مرة ميانمار.
وتتنوع موضوعات الأفلام المختارة بين قضايا الهجرة والاغتراب والصراعات النفسية واستحضار الذاكرة التاريخية، مقدّمةً طيفًا واسعًا من التجارب الإنسانية في قوالب درامية ووثائقية وتجريبية مبتكرة تعكس ثراء التجربة السينمائية العالمية.
وتتميّز دورة هذا العام بحضور نسائي لافت، حيث تشارك 8 مخرجات في رقم قياسي جديد يسجّله المهرجان، فيما يشهد البرنامج 5 عروض عالمية أولى ضمن هذه الفئة، تتنافس جميعها على جوائز «اليسر» التي تُمنح في الحفل الختامي احتفاءً بأبرز الإبداعات السينمائية المشاركة.
وشهد المهرجان هذا العام إقبالًا غير مسبوق على المشاركة في فئة الأفلام القصيرة الدولية، إذ تجاوز عدد الأعمال المتقدمة 840 فيلمًا من آسيا وأفريقيا، مع ارتفاع ملحوظ في المشاركات القادمة من شرق وجنوب شرق آسيا بعد فتح باب التقديم لتلك المناطق العام الماضي.
The Red Sea International Film Festival has revealed the list of international films participating in the Red Sea Short Film Competition, as part of its fifth edition taking place in the heart of historic Jeddah, "Al-Balad," from December 4 to 13.
The list of films participating in the competition includes eleven international short films from countries in Asia and Africa, including South Africa, Malaysia, China, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kyrgyzstan, Chad, India, Georgia, Kenya, and for the first time, Myanmar.
The selected films cover a variety of themes, including issues of migration, alienation, psychological conflicts, and the evocation of historical memory, presenting a wide spectrum of human experiences in innovative dramatic, documentary, and experimental formats that reflect the richness of global cinematic experience.
This year's edition is distinguished by a remarkable female presence, with 8 female directors participating, marking a new record for the festival, while the program features 5 world premieres in this category, all competing for the "Yusr" awards, which will be presented at the closing ceremony in celebration of the most outstanding cinematic creations.
This year, the festival has witnessed unprecedented interest in the international short film category, with over 840 submissions from Asia and Africa, showing a notable increase in entries from East and Southeast Asia after the application process was opened to those regions last year.
