اختارت مجلة تايم الأمريكية الرئيسة التنفيذية للمجموعة السعودية للأبحاث والإعلام (SRMG) رئيسة مجلس أمناء مؤسسة مهرجان البحر الأحمر السينمائي الدولي جمانا الراشد، ضمن قائمة «TIME100 Next» لأهم 100 شخصية من قادة المستقبل حول العالم، لتكون أوّل شخصية سعودية تُدرج في هذه القائمة العالمية.
ووصفت «تايم» الراشد بأنها «مهندسة التحوّل في مشهد الإعلام المتغيّر في الشرق الأوسط»، مشيرة إلى أن تعيينها في عام 2020 كأول امرأة تتولى قيادة SRMG، إحدى أبرز المجموعات الإعلامية المدعومة من الدولة، شكّل لحظة فارقة في القطاع، ومنذ ذلك الحين، عملت على توسيع نطاق المجموعة لتضم 30 وسيلة إعلامية تصل إلى أكثر من 210 ملايين متلقٍ حول العالم.
وأطلقت الراشد مبادرات نوعية من بينها «بأيدٍ نسائية، للجميع»، التي سلّمت فيها القيادة التحريرية لعدد من منصّات المجموعة إلى فرق نسائية بالكامل بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للمرأة، في خطوة رمزية نحو تمكين المرأة في الإعلام.
وفي دورها كرئيسة لمجلس إدارة مؤسسة مهرجان البحر الأحمر السينمائي، تُواصل الراشد دعم المواهب السينمائية الناشئة في العالم العربي وآسيا وأفريقيا، موفّرةً لهم منصّة انطلاق نحو العالمية، وفي مايو الماضي، عُرضت أربعة أفلام مدعومة من صندوق المهرجان ضمن فعاليات مهرجان كان السينمائي، بينما عبّرت الراشد في تصريح سابق عن أملها في أن يُفتتح مهرجان البحر الأحمر يوماً ما بفيلم لمخرجة سعودية.
The American magazine Time has selected the CEO of the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), Jumana Al-Rashed, as a member of the "TIME100 Next" list of the 100 most important future leaders around the world, making her the first Saudi individual to be included in this global list.
Time described Al-Rashed as "the architect of transformation in the changing media landscape in the Middle East," noting that her appointment in 2020 as the first woman to lead SRMG, one of the most prominent state-supported media groups, marked a pivotal moment in the sector. Since then, she has worked to expand the group to include 30 media outlets reaching over 210 million audiences worldwide.
Al-Rashed launched significant initiatives, including "By Women's Hands, for Everyone," in which she handed over editorial leadership of several of the group's platforms to all-female teams in celebration of International Women's Day, in a symbolic step towards empowering women in media.
In her role as Chair of the Board of the Red Sea International Film Festival Foundation, Al-Rashed continues to support emerging cinematic talents in the Arab world, Asia, and Africa, providing them with a platform to launch into the global arena. Last May, four films supported by the festival's fund were showcased at the Cannes Film Festival, while Al-Rashed previously expressed her hope that the Red Sea Festival would one day open with a film by a Saudi female director.
