وقّع أكثر من 1800 شخصية من صناعة السينما العالمية، بينهم نجوم كبار من هوليوود وأوروبا، رسالة مفتوحة تعلن مقاطعتهم للمؤسسات السينمائية الإسرائيلية، متهمين إياها بـ«التواطؤ في جرائم إبادة جماعية ضد الفلسطينيين في غزة».
الرسالة التي نشرتها صحيفة الغارديان، شددت على أن الموقعين «لن يعرضوا أفلامهم، أو يشاركوا، أو يتعاونوا بأي شكل مع مهرجانات أو شركات إنتاج أو منصات بث إسرائيلية مرتبطة بالاحتلال والفصل العنصري».
نجوم على قائمة المقاطعة
من بين الموقعين أسماء بارزة مثل: الممثلة البريطانية أوليفيا كولمان، والممثل ريز أحمد، وإيمي لو وود وجوش أوكونور، والنجمة تيلدا سوينتون، والممثل الأمريكي مارك روفالو، والممثلة إيما ستون، والإسباني خافيير بارديم، والمخرج المكسيكي غايل غارسيا برنال، إضافة إلى مخرجين كبار مثل: كين لوش ويورغوس لانثيموس وآدم مكاي وأفا ديفيرناي.

تأتي هذه الخطوة بعد شهر واحد من رسالة أخرى وقّعها نحو 200 كاتب بريطاني وأيرلندي، طالبوا خلالها بمقاطعة شاملة لإسرائيل حتى تزويد سكان غزة بالمياه والغذاء والمساعدات الطبية بشكل كافٍ، تحت إشراف الأمم المتحدة.
More than 1,800 figures from the global film industry, including major stars from Hollywood and Europe, have signed an open letter announcing their boycott of Israeli cinematic institutions, accusing them of "complicity in genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza."
The letter, published by The Guardian, emphasized that the signatories "will not screen their films, participate, or collaborate in any way with Israeli festivals, production companies, or streaming platforms linked to the occupation and apartheid."

Among the signatories are prominent names such as British actress Olivia Colman, actor Riz Ahmed, Amy Lou Wood, Josh O'Connor, star Tilda Swinton, American actor Mark Ruffalo, actress Emma Stone, Spanish actor Javier Bardem, and Mexican director Gael García Bernal, in addition to major directors like Ken Loach, Yorgos Lanthimos, Adam McKay, and Ava DuVernay.
Historical Background of the Stance
The organization Film Workers for Palestine, which led the initiative, stated that the campaign is inspired by the historical stance of several filmmakers who refused to screen their works in South Africa during the apartheid era. However, this time it is distinguished by naming specific Israeli institutions, such as the Jerusalem Film Festival, the Haifa International Film Festival, Docaviv, and TLVfest.
Jews in Solidarity with Palestine
The letter included signatures from several well-known Jewish figures who support the Palestinian cause, including Ilana Glazer, Hannah Einbinder, Emma Seligman, and Wallace Shawn, which added further momentum to the stance.
Increasing Calls
This step comes just a month after another letter signed by around 200 British and Irish writers, in which they called for a comprehensive boycott of Israel until adequate water, food, and medical assistance are provided to the residents of Gaza, under the supervision of the United Nations.
