أشاد المخرج المصري محمد سامي بمسيرة الفنانة منى زكي، واصفاً إياها بأنها «رمز مشرف للمرأة المصرية» وأيقونة يصعب تكرارها في تاريخ الفن. وقال عبر منشور مطول على «فيسبوك» إنه لمس خلال لقائه الأخير بها وعياً وثقافة وحضوراً متميزاً، مؤكداً أنها الأكثر صدقاً وتأثيراً بين نجمات جيلها.
وأوضح سامي أن تميز منى زكي لا يقتصر على موهبتها الفنية، بل يمتد إلى شخصيتها الراقية، وحوارها المثقف، وتوازنها بين كونها فنانة ناجحة وزوجة وأمّاً، مضيفاً أن أي عمل تشارك فيه يكتسب قيمة إضافية بفضل أدائها البسيط والعميق في آن واحد.
واعتبر المخرج أن حضور منى زكي يتجاوز الشاشة إلى الإعلام والمجتمع والإعلانات، ما يجعلها نموذجاً مُلهِماً للأجيال الجديدة، خاتماً حديثه بأنها «نجمة النجوم وواحدة من أبرز أيقونات الفن المصري والعربي».

He added that any work she participates in gains added value thanks to her performance, which is both simple and profound at the same time.
The director considered that Mona Zaki's presence transcends the screen to media, society, and advertisements, making her an inspiring model for new generations. He concluded his remarks by stating that she is "the star of stars and one of the most prominent icons of Egyptian and Arab art."
