The Cairo Court has announced the convening of the first session to consider the compensation lawsuit filed by the family of the late artist Mahmoud Abdelaziz against the media personality Bousi Shalaby on July 17.

The family of the late artist is demanding compensation of 10 million Egyptian pounds from the media personality for her use of forged documents and the intentional defamation of the late artist's reputation.

The family accuses Bousi Shalaby of using documents that they claim are forged, including a purported marriage contract between the media personality and the artist, in addition to a national ID card, a family registration document, and a passport.

Investigative authorities have begun summoning the media personality, and as a result, she was granted temporary release pending the completion of investigations. The prosecution announced that evidence collection is ongoing and impartial, without bias towards any party in the lawsuit.

Heidi Al-Fadali, the lawyer representing Bousi Shalaby, confirmed that her client has provided documents and legal evidence during the investigation, adding that she answered all inquiries and submitted documents that refute the family's claims. She clarified that no premature judgments should be made while awaiting the completion of procedures.

The lawsuit comes as part of a series of legal disputes between the family and the media personality regarding the nature of the relationship attributed to them following the artist's death.
