شنّت المخرجة المصرية سارة وفيق، مخرجة فيلم «ريستارت» من بطولة الفنان المصري تامر حسني، هجوماً على الناقد الفني طارق الشناوي، رداً على انتقاده للعمل الذي يعرض حالياً ضمن أفلام عيد الأضحى المبارك 2025.
ووجّهت سارة عبر حسابها الشخصي في «فيسبوك» رسالة مطولة شديدة اللهجة إلى الشناوي، حيث كتبت: «أستاذ طارق الشناوي في فرق كبير بين الإهانة والنقد، حضرتك بتقول إن مفيش موضوع في الفيلم، ودي حاجة ضحّكتني جداً، لأن إحنا بنتكلّم عن موضوع الساعة موضوع العصر أكبر موضوع بيهمّنا ويخصّنا حالياً».
وأكدت أن الفيلم يناقش بذكاء وسخرية قضية الهوس بالشهرة والترند، وهي قضية معاصرة تمس المجتمع بأسره، معلقة: «كلامك فكرني بمشهد في الفيلم للفنان محمد ثروت، وهو بيقول أنا أعمل أي حاجة عشان أبقى ترند إحنا خدامين الترند».
واتهمت مخرجة فيلم «ريستارت» الناقد طارق الشناوي بأن انتقاده للعمل سببه البحث عن الترند بدلاً من مناقشة العمل نفسه، وتابعت: «مبروك يا أستاذ طارق عرفت تبقى ترند من غير ما تنقد الفيلم.. تخبط في القائمين على العمل بعيداً عن العمل نفسه ولا اتكلمت عن إيجابياته ولا سلبياته لا ههاجم أشخاص وبكده هطلع ترند بسرعة».
كما أشارت إلى أن الشناوي، بصفته ناقداً فنياً، تجاهل ذكر عرض الإيجابيات والسلبيات ولم يستخدم أدواته المهنية كما ينبغي، قائلة: «حضرتك بتتكلم عن أدوات المخرج والمؤلف، ولم تستخدم أدواتك كناقد فني يا ريتك قلت حاجة نستفيد بيها بدل ما أنت طالع ترمي إفيهات وحشة كمان».
وأنهت مخرجة فيلم «ريستارت» رسالتها بأن الأرقام وردود فعل الجمهور هي النجاح الحقيقي وليس فقط آراء النقاد، قائلة: «الرقم اللي متحقق جوّه مصر وبرا مش مجاملة يا أستاذ طارق، ده الجمهور الحقيقي اللي بنخاطبه، دول مش ولاد أختي مثلاً، الفيلم لسّة نازل وداخل على خمسين مليون داخل مصر فقط، وده نجاح مفرّح كل صنّاعه، الحمد لله، على العموم دي كلمتك ورأيك والجمهور قال كلمته برضو».
The Egyptian director Sarah Wafiq, director of the film "Restart" starring Egyptian artist Tamer Hosny, launched an attack on the art critic Tarek El Shenawy in response to his criticism of the work currently showing as part of the Eid al-Adha films for 2025.
Sarah directed a lengthy and strongly-worded message to El Shenawy via her personal account on "Facebook," writing: "Professor Tarek El Shenawy, there is a big difference between insult and criticism. You say there is no subject in the film, and that made me laugh a lot because we are talking about the topic of the hour, the topic of the era, the biggest issue that concerns us right now."
She emphasized that the film intelligently and sarcastically discusses the obsession with fame and trends, which is a contemporary issue affecting society as a whole, commenting: "Your words reminded me of a scene in the film featuring artist Mohamed Tharwat, where he says, 'I will do anything to become a trend; we are servants of the trend.'
The director of "Restart" accused critic Tarek El Shenawy of criticizing the work out of a desire to chase trends rather than discussing the work itself, adding: "Congratulations, Professor Tarek, you managed to become a trend without criticizing the film... You attack the people behind the work away from the work itself and didn't talk about its positives or negatives; you just want to attack individuals, and that way you'll trend quickly."
She also pointed out that El Shenawy, as an art critic, ignored mentioning the positives and negatives and did not use his professional tools as he should have, saying: "You are talking about the tools of the director and the writer, but you did not use your tools as an art critic. I wish you had said something we could benefit from instead of coming out with bad jokes."
She concluded her message by stating that the numbers and audience reactions are the true measure of success, not just critics' opinions, saying: "The number achieved inside and outside Egypt is not flattery, Professor Tarek; this is the real audience we are addressing. They are not my sister's children, for example. The film has just been released and is approaching fifty million inside Egypt alone, and this is a joyful success for all its creators. Thank God. In any case, this is your word and opinion, and the audience has also spoken."
