في أمسية حملت عبق الذاكرة البصرية ووهج التوثيق، دشّن الفنان التشكيلي الرائد أحمد فلمبان كتابه الجديد «الفن التشكيلي السعودي في ذكرى التسعين»، وذلك في جامعة الأعمال والتكنولوجيا بجدة، بحضور نخبة من المثقفين والفنانين والنقاد.
وثمّن الدكتور عبدالله دحلان مكانة الفنان فلمبان، واصفاً إياه بـ«أحد أعمدة الفن التشكيلي في المملكة»، مؤكداً أهمية توثيق الحركة الفنية كجزء من الوعي الثقافي الوطني.
الكتاب يُعد إضافة نوعية للمكتبة الفنية السعودية، إذ يوثّق مسيرة الفن التشكيلي المحلي خلال النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين، ويتتبّع تحولات المشهد الفني السعودي، من نشأة المؤسسات والمعارض حتى وصول الفن السعودي إلى المنصات العالمية.
وضمّ الإصدار السير الذاتية لـ671 فناناً وفنانة، إضافة إلى قاعدة بيانات شاملة لـ18695 فناناً، وتوثيق خاص لـ68 فناناً راحلاً، في محاولة جادّة لحماية الذاكرة التشكيلية من الاندثار في ظل غياب مراجع رسمية.
وخلال كلمته، أكد فلمبان أن هذا العمل يمثل حصيلة سنوات من البحث والتوثيق، وشكلاً من أشكال الوفاء للفن السعودي وروّاده، مشدداً على أهمية التوثيق في تعزيز الهوية الثقافية ورفد الذاكرة الوطنية.
واختُتمت الأمسية بعزف للموسيقار مدني عبادي، الذي أضفى لمسة موسيقية راقية على أمسية احتفت بالفن والكلمة والتاريخ.
In an evening that carried the fragrance of visual memory and the glow of documentation, the pioneering visual artist Ahmed Filmban launched his new book "Saudi Visual Art in Commemoration of the Ninety," at the University of Business and Technology in Jeddah, in the presence of a select group of intellectuals, artists, and critics.
Dr. Abdullah Duhlan praised the status of artist Filmban, describing him as "one of the pillars of visual art in the Kingdom," emphasizing the importance of documenting the artistic movement as part of national cultural awareness.
The book is considered a qualitative addition to the Saudi art library, as it documents the journey of local visual art during the second half of the twentieth century, tracing the transformations of the Saudi artistic scene, from the establishment of institutions and exhibitions to the arrival of Saudi art on global platforms.
The publication includes the biographies of 671 male and female artists, in addition to a comprehensive database of 18,695 artists, and special documentation for 68 deceased artists, in a serious attempt to protect the artistic memory from fading in the absence of official references.
During his speech, Filmban affirmed that this work represents the culmination of years of research and documentation, and a form of loyalty to Saudi art and its pioneers, stressing the importance of documentation in enhancing cultural identity and enriching national memory.
The evening concluded with a performance by musician Madani Abadi, who added a refined musical touch to an event that celebrated art, literature, and history.
