The living being is in a state of constant change, and I have reached my late convictions after a long time of reading, researching, and comparing the cultural or religious issues that have troubled me at different ages, with the certainty that every day I acquire new knowledge, I will be in a changing cognitive state.
I learned early on that the humanities can be rejected or accepted, and no matter how diverse the humanities are, you can adhere to the convictions you have reached. With numerous readings, I fortified myself with a foundation of doubt, this engine that keeps you in a constant movement of searching and inquiry. I no longer rely on the data of any knowledge unless I resort to reading the idea and its opposite, and I extract for myself a personal conviction that I may adhere to for a period. If new knowledge emerges that contradicts what my soul has settled into, I quickly pursue (dialectics) in searching for what contradicts the newly introduced idea. The dialectic is not merely the condition of the philosopher Hegel, but rather what leads me to a conviction that enables me to achieve psychological stability—even if only for a brief period. And if I experience doubt about the late idea, I have no objection to starting the search anew.
If we include the concept of conviction as a special state, we can also place the concept of faith as a special state. Therefore, no person has the right to seek to shake the convictions of others, although they may have the right to clarify their own ideas, in order to establish the usefulness of writing, or to raise awareness, or to refute ideas. This is the message that the intellectual must uphold, generalize, or disseminate, without forcing others to accept what has been written.
This thought occurred to me while watching a religious program by a young man who began to reiterate statements and historical events that had been refuted with compelling evidence.
I have demanded, and still do, the purification of the written heritage from the impurities that have attached to it, as what happened is the absolute truth.
I insisted—between myself—that this request is impossible for several reasons, the most important of which may be that people are not a single copy. Nevertheless, there is a social reality that confirms we are regurgitating a past culture with its truths and errors without scrutiny or precision or knowledge (of definitive or probabilistic significance), and the demand for this knowledge is necessary so that this generation does not regurgitate what we have regurgitated over many years.
Here, I remembered the famous popular proverb (everyone lives by their own mind); and because I believe that faith is a special state, alongside this faith is the affirmation that the result of deep research leads a person to their own faith. As for the issue of (the faith of the elderly), as it was said, this saying has become outdated.
Indeed, the pursuit of the path of research is essential for anyone who has any doubt. The incapacity was suitable for the era of (the faith of the elderly), but now such a saying has no place in expression. Time has transformed into a trustworthy advisor affirming that research is the salvation for any doubt that afflicts any person, and the researcher is found in a state of faith transitions according to the ongoing research struggles they experience.
I see that you are in a state of psychological safety whenever your search for what concerns you as intellectual knowledge, whether related to history or intertwined ideas, becomes more intense. Finally, as is said to the ailing (you are the doctor of yourself).
