"Congratulations on the resignation"… a phrase that has become inscribed on cakes and accompanied by gifts as if it were a medal of victory, not a decision to withdraw. This scene appears to be a celebration of freedom, but at its core, it reveals a deep-rooted flaw in the work culture and sense of belonging among a generation that treats jobs as temporary crossings rather than long-term paths.
Today's generation celebrates resignation as if it were a personal achievement, while in many cases it is an elegant escape from commitment and perseverance.
In the past, resignation was an exceptional decision that came after years of struggle; today, it has become an immediate reaction to boredom or to an offer of a slightly higher salary.
The ambition of youth is legitimate, but ambition that lacks patience turns into professional restlessness and a career without roots.
What we see today is a job market saturated with offers but poor in loyalty, where employees move between companies as they change their phones, considering change alone as a sign of success. Over time, professional identity fades, values of loyalty diminish, and experience becomes a collection of scattered dates in a resume without a clear line or a true story of achievement.
Institutions also bear part of the responsibility, as they have nurtured this behavior by excessively competing to attract talents with "astronomical" benefits instead of investing in humane and sustainable work environments. Thus, we have a market that honors those who leave more than those who are loyal, a market that rewards transition rather than stability, and celebrates departure more than loyalty.
Yes, Vision 2030 has opened doors and created unprecedented opportunities, but this requires a generation that masters perseverance! True success is not measured by the number of offers we receive, but by our ability to leave an impact where we stand. Nations are not built by hands that wave goodbye, but by hands that stay, accomplish, and believe that professional loyalty is not a weakness… but an honor that deserves appreciation.
