There is no doubt that the establishment of a Palestinian state is an urgent desire to grant the Palestinian people their right to live like all the peoples of the world. Since the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, there have been persistent attempts to establish a Palestinian state to become a member of the international community like other Arab countries. Most of these attempts have failed due to the stubbornness of the American administration - Israel's strategic ally - and its thwarting of every decision that was about to be issued by the Security Council to establish the Palestinian state. Despite the recognition of the Palestinian state by many countries, some major powers have had a hesitant stance regarding the approval of the nascent state.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always been keen to support the Palestinian cause so that the Palestinian people can obtain their legitimate rights. However, the recent move by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in coordination with France during the international conference for a two-state solution, which was recently held at the United Nations headquarters, represented a strong momentum that brought this issue back to the forefront. This resulted in the announcement by two major powers, France and Britain, of their intention to recognize the Palestinian state.
Prior to the recognition by these two countries, Spain had recognized the State of Palestine, and it is certain that the coming days will witness international solidarity for the recognition of the State of Palestine within the borders of June 4, 1967. Despite this international solidarity, Israel continues to commit numerous war crimes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, seeking to displace the Palestinian people from both areas to thwart international recognition of the Palestinian state. However, the Palestinian people, who have fought hard for their cause, continue to resist Israeli crimes and strive to remain steadfast against all attempts to displace them, despite the genocidal crimes committed by Netanyahu's government.
At the same time that Israel wishes to normalize relations with other Arab countries, it engages in contradictory behaviors that completely contradict this. It vehemently refuses and stubbornly denies the rights of the Palestinian people. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has repeatedly declared that the normalization of its relations with Israel will only occur through a two-state solution, and that any type, degree, or level of normalization must be preceded by Israel's recognition of the Palestinian state. To emphasize this, Saudi diplomacy coordinated with France to hold the international conference that took place in New York recently and resulted in the intention of many countries to recognize the State of Palestine.
Days ago, Russia announced that peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved without recognizing the State of Palestine, while simultaneously criticizing the Israeli violations taking place on the lands of Gaza and the West Bank, indicating Russia's support for the Saudi-French diplomatic efforts for a two-state solution. With the recognition by Britain and France, four permanent members of the Security Council have recognized the State of Palestine, thus more than 147 out of 193 member states of the United Nations have also recognized the State of Palestine.
The announcement by France and Britain of their intention to recognize the State of Palestine represents a victory for Saudi diplomacy against Israeli stubbornness towards the Palestinian people. It is noteworthy that the efforts undertaken by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have not been limited to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people but also the Syrian people, whose isolation imposed by the West during the rule of the fallen Ba'ath Party has been successfully broken by the prince's efforts. It is also clear to any observer the efforts made by Saudi diplomacy to restore security and stability to Lebanon.
It is also noted that all calls that included support for the two-state solution demanded that Hamas hand over the hostages and that Gaza be under the control of the Palestinian Authority, which governs the West Bank. The Palestinian division will scatter all efforts made to restore stability in the Gaza Strip. It is certain that Hamas handing over the hostages as well as transferring the administration of the sector to the Palestinian Authority will cut off Netanyahu's government from thwarting any efforts to establish the Palestinian state and end the suffering of the Palestinian people in the sector.
It is clear that Saudi diplomacy has a roadmap for establishing security and stability in the region, which is evident through its adoption of the two-state solution concept, as well as its diligent efforts to break the isolation imposed on some countries in the region. However, the success of this diplomacy is contingent upon the political will of the concerned countries. In Lebanon and Syria, weapons must be confined to the hands of the central government only, and the popular front must be cohesive around its leadership.
