The role of the telecommunications sector, led by Saudi Telecom Company (STC), which adopted the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into its operational system, was notable in linking the enablers and means of achieving success for the efficiency of the sectors and providing smart communication solutions and digital technologies to support the readiness of service, security, and health entities, analyze data in real-time, and obtain performance indicators that improve the efficiency of fieldwork!

The use of critical communication technologies also contributed to facilitating crowd management, linking operational systems, and improving rapid intervention mechanisms in emergency situations. The services of timing and rituals enabled field teams to secure priority for immediate communications, share data and media, and determine locations, contributing to increased effectiveness in performance and coordination among field service entities!

The revolution in advanced communications, of which the Kingdom is now one of the leading countries in the world, reflects the Kingdom's Vision 2030 regarding the importance of developing this vital sector. This vision has allowed the Kingdom to reap its benefits during the 2019 pandemic and utilize them to enhance its management efficiency for the Hajj season each year!

Saudi Telecom revealed a 64% increase in the volume of data transmitted over the network compared to the last Hajj season, while the use of fifth-generation services surged by 129%. This significant leap indicates the increasing reliance of pilgrims on digital applications, visual communication, and navigation technologies, as Saudi Arabia provided every pilgrim on its land the opportunity to remain in constant contact with the world!

All this success would not have been possible without a solid infrastructure of advanced technologies and qualified human competencies to manage and harness them to their maximum capacity and effectiveness for the beneficiaries!
