The genocide war being waged by Israel against the Palestinians has exceeded six hundred days, and it is certainly very difficult to recount the crimes committed – and still being committed – by Israel against an entire people in this limited space of lines. Apparently, Israel's appetite for killing knows no bounds, and the events of October 7 provided it with a golden opportunity to wage war against Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Iran, which warns of the danger of the expansion of this war.
When Israel launched its war against Hamas, it was supported by the United States and many European countries. The leaders of those countries rushed to visit Israel, expressing their readiness to provide assistance in its war in Gaza and the West Bank, and to wage war against Hamas under the pretext of recovering Israeli hostages. This raised a question that some analysts have long posed across global news platforms: Does Netanyahu's government really care about recovering the hostages? His statements and justifications all suggest that recovering the hostages is the main goal of this war, yet the reality indicates that things are actually proceeding in a completely different direction.
It is clear that Netanyahu's government does not genuinely care about recovering the hostages; rather, it exploits this issue to achieve a set of other goals it has long aspired to accomplish. The events of October 7 provided Netanyahu's government with a golden opportunity to turn the Gaza Strip into hell, pushing its residents to flee and emptying it in preparation for settlement. If this does not happen, then it will resort to killing as many residents of the Strip as possible to get rid of them. The essence of Israel's plan is to eliminate the population of the Gaza Strip and evacuate it by any means, whether through killing or displacement.
Since the war began, many rounds of negotiations have been held between the two parties to exchange hostages. In each round of negotiations, the international community held hope for ending the conflict and stopping the fighting, which seemed to particularly concern the Israeli Prime Minister. Stopping the fighting means ending his efforts to evacuate the Strip and failing his plans. Therefore, he seeks to place obstacles one after another to sabotage the negotiations and prolong them indefinitely, then emerges to declare that Hamas is being obstinate in the negotiations because it is against peace!
However, as the pace of the war intensified, its duration lengthened, and the Israeli massacres against the civilians and unarmed residents of Gaza multiplied, leading to a situation on the brink of collapse, some leaders of the Western world began to show annoyance and restlessness over the continuation of the war and the daily casualties in the hundreds. With the outbreak of numerous massive protests within those very countries, especially after global news agencies circulated images of corpses and mass graves, and addressed the policies of starvation and preventing humanitarian aid from reaching the besieged residents of Gaza, along with the continuous bombing even of hospitals and the cessation of all forms of life within the Strip, many world leaders – who had previously supported Israel – began to condemn what is happening in the Strip. However, this apparent sorrow, condemnation, and superficial pain raises a fundamental question: Does the condemnation of these bloody crimes reflect a genuine belief in the seriousness and brutality of these Israeli crimes, or is its aim merely to absorb public anger in those countries?
It is clear that Israel no longer cares about any criticism; it does not even care about any condemnations or international resolutions. As for the International Court's decision regarding the necessity of prosecuting Netanyahu for committing war crimes, it found no resonance in Israel, but was met with rejection and outrage from some pro-Israel countries that are now condemning the Israeli crimes. This shows a clear contradiction between hollow media statements and the reality on the ground.
The tears shed by some Western countries now find no receptive ears in Israel, but they will not change the course of the unjust war against an entire people. If they are not accompanied by decisive actions such as stopping the export of arms shipments to Israel and imposing economic sanctions against it, the war will continue indefinitely, known only to God. At that time, regret will be of no use, and sorrow will not help; mere sorrow is not enough, and serious steps must be taken to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
