The Musicians' Syndicate in Egypt has opened an official investigation with the popular singer Hamada Al-Asmar, known by the nickname (The Butcher), following an incident that sparked widespread outrage on social media after a video surfaced showing his interaction with a person with a disability during a wedding.
The details of the incident date back to a wedding held in the city of Mansoura a few days ago, where the singer appeared in the circulated video preventing a person known by the nickname (Kebda) from staying on stage, before he verbally abused him and pushed him to leave, in a scene that drew sharp criticism from viewers.
The clip quickly spread across social media platforms, with comments deeming the actions unjustifiable, especially since (Kebda) is known for his frequent presence at many weddings and major events in the city, and he is warmly welcomed by attendees and organizers.
In an attempt to contain the crisis, Hamada Al-Asmar issued an apology through his official social media accounts, expressing his regret for what happened during the event. However, sources within the Musicians' Syndicate confirmed that an apology alone does not close the case, indicating that the syndicate is proceeding with the investigation to understand all the circumstances of the incident and take necessary actions regarding it.
The sources clarified that what occurred was described within the syndicate as unacceptable behavior, emphasizing the need to verify all details before announcing the final results and any actions that may arise from the incident.
