The Economic Court in Alexandria has postponed the ruling in the case filed by artist Basma Boussel against a woman accused of defaming and slandering her through social media, and has decided to reserve the case for judgment in the session on November 28.
The decision came during the consideration of the case being heard before the Economic Court in Alexandria, where the plaintiff accuses one of the women of insulting her through electronic accounts.
The details of the incident date back to a report submitted by Basma Boussel to the security authorities, in which she stated that she had been subjected to defamation and slander through posts circulated on social media.
Investigations revealed that the accused, named (H.A.), used an electronic account to publish content deemed offensive to the victim, which also included - according to the investigations - what the relevant authorities considered to infringe on her private life and cause her harassment and annoyance through electronic communication means.
After examining the report and gathering evidence, a record of the incident was prepared, while the Economic Affairs Prosecution began investigations that concluded with referring the accused to trial before the competent Economic Court.
The court decided in its last session to postpone the case for a ruling on November 28, to complete the legal procedures and resolve the case.
