The Misdemeanor Court of Ain Shams, convened at the New Cairo Courts Complex, sentenced "Mustafa Kamal," known in the media as "the fake judge," to two years in prison with hard labor, in a case where he was accused of defrauding citizens and embezzling their money.

Fatigue and Exhaustion

The accused "Mustafa Kamal" appeared wearing the white attire of pretrial detention, showing signs of fatigue and exhaustion as he was led into the courtroom. His sister was keen to attend the court session to support her brother.

The Public Prosecution charged the defendants "Mustafa K." and "Hisham" in case number 14626 for the year 2026, Misdemeanor Ain Shams, with defrauding citizens and embezzling their money.

Prosecution Investigations

The media center of the Public Prosecution had monitored the circulation of a video clip on social media, which included a plea for help from a citizen who had fallen victim to fraud and had his money embezzled, by someone falsely claiming to be a judge in one of the judicial authorities. The Public Prosecution initiated investigations, which led to the identification and arrest of the first defendant, who was found in possession of a firearm and ammunition, a judicial sash, identification cards bearing his alleged title, and two mobile phones.

During interrogation, he admitted to impersonating a judge and committing several fraud incidents against citizens to embezzle their money, claiming he could expedite the allocation of housing units for them. He also confessed to filming and publishing pictures and video clips inside one of the courts while wearing the judicial sash to lend credibility to his claims, and he indicated that a second defendant was involved with him in these incidents.

Filming Clips

Upon examining the two seized mobile phones, it was confirmed that they contained the images and video clips under investigation, and it was noted that several court employees appeared in some of them. The second defendant was apprehended, and during interrogation, he admitted to participating with the first defendant in filming and publishing the video clips and images, falsely claiming his title as a judge on social media. When the court employees were apprehended and interrogated, they confirmed their appearance in the clips under examination, denied the accusations against them, and stated that the first defendant had told them he worked for one of the judicial authorities.
