A company specializing in food products has announced the recall of packages of So Delicious dairy-free frozen desserts from U.S. markets, after detecting a potential risk of small stones or other hard objects in the cashew pieces used in the product.
The decision includes packages of frozen desserts with a salted caramel flavor containing cashew pieces, which were sold in retail stores across the United States, according to reports from specialized media.
The recall is limited to packages that have a "best by" date of April 3, 2028, or any earlier date. Consumers can verify the printed information on the bottom of the package, along with the Universal Product Code (UPC) number 744473476138 and the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) number 136603.
The company confirmed that the action does not include other flavors, sizes, or codes of its products, clarifying that the potential issue is related to the cashew pieces added to the dessert, which may contain small stones or other hard objects.
The recall decision came after receiving complaints from consumers regarding the product, before notifying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) about the issue, while coordinating with retailers to remove the affected packages from refrigeration units.
The company stated that products not included in the recall remain available for sale, and future shipments of the products will not be affected by this action.
Consumers who purchased the recalled packages are urged not to consume them and to contact customer service for a refund or a coupon for product replacement.
