في واقعة لافتة، لم تتوقف تداعيات قضية سرقة عند الاتهام والاحتجاز، بعدما تحولت صورة جنائية لمتهمة أمريكية إلى مادة رائجة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، إثر ملاحظة مستخدمين شبهًا كبيرًا بينها وبين النجمة العالمية جينيفر لوبيز.
وبحسب صحيفة «نيويورك بوست»، ألقت سلطات مقاطعة رايت في ولاية مينيسوتا القبض على سيرينا آن كواست، البالغة من العمر 35 عامًا، للاشتباه في سرقة حزمتين مزدوجتين من بطاريات الأدوات الكهربائية، تقدر قيمتهما بنحو 580 دولارًا، من أحد المتاجر الكبرى.
ووفقًا للبلاغ الجنائي، تمكن أحد موظفي المتجر من التعرف على كواست بعدما اشتبه في تورطها بحادثة سرقة أخرى وقعت قبل يومين من توقيفها. وأقرت لاحقًا بالواقعة، لتُوجَّه إليها تهمة سرقة كبرى.
لكن القضية سرعان ما أخذت مسارًا مختلفًا على منصات التواصل، إذ جذبت صورة كواست التي التُقطت عقب احتجازها اهتمامًا واسعًا، بعدما لفت مستخدمون إلى ملامح الشبه بينها وبين جينيفر لوبيز، البالغة من العمر 57 عامًا.
وتداول مستخدمون الصورة على نطاق واسع، مصحوبة بتعليقات ساخرة ومقارنات بالنجمة الأمريكية. وقال أحد المتابعين إنه ظن للوهلة الأولى أن الصورة تعود إلى لوبيز نفسها، فيما ربط آخرون الموقف بأغنيتها الشهيرة «Jenny from the Block».
وذهب بعض المعلقين إلى حد المزاح بشأن إجراء اختبار للحمض النووي، لمعرفة ما إذا كانت كواست تمتلك صلة قرابة بالنجمة العالمية، في تعليقات جاءت في إطار السخرية من التشابه اللافت بينهما.
وأُفرج عن كواست بعد يوم واحد من احتجازها، غير أن السجلات الإلكترونية أظهرت أن الواقعة ليست أول احتكاك لها بالقانون، إذ يتضمن سجلها السابق توقيفات على خلفية اتهامات متنوعة، من بينها حيازة مواد مخدرة، والقيادة تحت تأثير المسكرات، والفرار من الشرطة، وتقديم هوية مزيفة.
وهكذا، تحولت صورة التوقيف الخاصة بكواست من مجرد إجراء جنائي روتيني إلى حديث واسع على منصات التواصل، بعدما خطف التشابه بينها وبين جينيفر لوبيز الأضواء من تفاصيل القضية نفسها.

According to the "New York Post," authorities in Wright County, Minnesota, arrested Serena Ann Quast, 35, on suspicion of stealing two double packs of power tool batteries, valued at approximately $580, from a major retail store.
According to the criminal report, a store employee recognized Quast after suspecting her involvement in another theft incident that occurred two days before her arrest. She later admitted to the incident, leading to a charge of grand theft.
However, the case quickly took a different turn on social media, as a photo of Quast taken after her detention attracted widespread attention, with users pointing out her striking resemblance to 57-year-old Jennifer Lopez.
Users widely circulated the photo, accompanied by sarcastic comments and comparisons to the American star. One follower said he initially thought the photo belonged to Lopez herself, while others linked the situation to her famous song "Jenny from the Block."
Some commenters even joked about conducting a DNA test to see if Quast had any relation to the global star, in comments that mocked the notable similarity between them.
Quast was released one day after her detention; however, electronic records showed that this incident was not her first encounter with the law, as her previous record includes arrests for various charges, including possession of controlled substances, driving under the influence, fleeing from police, and providing a false identity.
