تحطمت مقاتلة أميركية من طراز «F-16» في ولاية ميشيغن، خلال مهمة تدريبية روتينية قرب مدينة ترافيرس سيتي، فيما تمكن الطيار من القفز من الطائرة والنجاة، وفق ما أعلن الحرس الوطني الجوي في ولاية تكساس، الخميس.
وأوضح الحرس الوطني، في منشور عبر «فيسبوك»، أن الطائرة التابعة له تعرضت للحادث أثناء تنفيذ المهمة، مشيرًا إلى أن الطيار خرج منها بأمان، بينما بدأت الجهات المختصة تحقيقًا للوقوف على ملابسات الواقعة وأسباب التحطم.
وبالتزامن مع الحادث، أعلنت السلطات المحلية تفعيل قرار بإخلاء منطقة تمتد لمسافة نحو 1.6 كيلومتر حول موقع سقوط الطائرة، من دون الكشف عن تفاصيل إضافية بشأن الإجراءات المتخذة أو وجود أضرار أخرى.
من جانبه، قال السيناتور عن ولاية ميشيغن غاري بيترز، عبر منصة «إكس»، إنه يتابع تطورات الحادث عن كثب، ويعمل على الحصول على مزيد من المعلومات بشأن الواقعة.
An American F-16 fighter jet crashed in Michigan during a routine training mission near Traverse City, while the pilot managed to eject from the aircraft and survive, according to the Texas Air National Guard on Thursday.
The National Guard stated in a post on Facebook that the aircraft was involved in the incident while carrying out the mission, noting that the pilot exited safely, while the relevant authorities have begun an investigation to determine the circumstances and causes of the crash.
Simultaneously with the incident, local authorities announced the activation of an evacuation order for an area extending about 1.6 kilometers around the crash site, without disclosing additional details regarding the measures taken or any other damages.
For his part, Michigan Senator Gary Peters stated on the platform X that he is closely monitoring the developments of the incident and is working to obtain more information regarding the event.
