وجّه القضاء الكويتي ضربة رادعة لتجاوزات الخطابات الانتخابية غير المسؤولة، بعدما أصدرت محكمة التمييز حكماً باتاً يقضي بالحبس الفعلي لمدة سنة مع الشغل بحق النائب السابق بدر الداهوم، إثر إدانته بالتجاوز والتطاول على قضاة المحكمة الدستورية خلال إحدى الفعاليات النيابية.
وأطاح القرار الجديد بجميع التسهيلات التي منحها حكم «الجنايات» السابق، والذي كان يكتفي بوقف تنفيذ السجن مقابل كفالة مالية بقيمة 5000 دينار ومحو حسابه في منصة «إكس». وجاء حكم «التمييز» ليلغي هذه الشروط بالكامل، مؤكداً نفاذ عقوبة الحبس الفعلي دون أي خيار لإيقافها.
The Kuwaiti judiciary has dealt a severe blow to the irresponsible excesses of electoral speeches, after the Court of Cassation issued a final ruling sentencing former MP Badr Al-Dahoum to one year of actual imprisonment with hard labor, following his conviction for exceeding limits and insulting the judges of the Constitutional Court during one of the parliamentary events.
The new decision has nullified all the concessions granted by the previous "criminal" ruling, which had merely suspended the execution of the prison sentence in exchange for a financial bail of 5,000 dinars and the deletion of his account on the "X" platform. The "Cassation" ruling has completely annulled these conditions, confirming the enforcement of the actual prison sentence without any option for suspension.
