خلف الشاشات المضيئة وفي غرف النوم المغلقة، يدور كابوس صامت يهدد ملايين الأطفال حول العالم، إذ فجرت منظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة (يونيسف) صدمة مدوية بدراسة استقصائية تُعد الأضخم من نوعها، معلنة سقوط نحو 20 مليون طفل في مصيدة الإساءات والابتزاز عبر شبكة الإنترنت خلال عام واحد.
الأرقام المرعبة التي جمعتها المنظمة من 21 دولة أزاحت الستار عن واقع سوداوي، إذ واجه ملايين القاصرين ضغوطاً متواصلة لإجبارهم على مشاركة صور خاصة، فضلاً عن تسريب وتداول صور أكثر من 4 ملايين طفل دون علمهم، وصولاً إلى التهديد العصري الجديد المتمثل في «الذكاء الاصطناعي» الذي استخدمه مجهولون لتزييف وفبركة صور خادشة لأكثر من مليون طفل.
وأطاحت هذه الأزمة بأوهام «الأمان الرقمي» على شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي الكبرى، حيث شهدت منصات مثل فيسبوك، وواتساب، وإنستغرام، وسناب شات، وتيك توك النسبة الأكبر من الوقائع برصيد 60%، مما دفع عمالقة التكنولوجيا لإطلاق تدابير حماية طارئة، في حين كشفت التحقيقات مفاجأة صادمة تشير إلى أن غالبية المبتزين هم أشخاص من الدائرة المقربة للطفل كالرفاق والأقارب.
ولم تتوقف تداعيات المأساة عند حدود الابتزاز في الفضاء الرقمي، بل امتدت لتدمير الاستقرار النفسي للضحايا، حيث أكدت «اليونيسف» أن الأطفال الخاضعين لجرائم الانتهاك الإلكتروني باتوا أكثر عرضة للأفكار الانتحارية وإيذاء النفس بأربعة أضعاف مقارنة بأقرانهم، ليظل الصمت والخوف من الفضيحة هو العائق الأكبر أمام وصول نجدتهم.

The terrifying figures collected by the organization from 21 countries have unveiled a grim reality, as millions of minors faced continuous pressure to force them into sharing private images, in addition to the leaking and circulation of images of more than 4 million children without their knowledge, culminating in the new modern threat represented by "artificial intelligence," which has been used by unknown individuals to forge and fabricate explicit images of over a million children.
This crisis has shattered the illusions of "digital safety" on major social media networks, where platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok witnessed the highest percentage of incidents, accounting for 60%. This has prompted tech giants to launch emergency protective measures, while investigations revealed a shocking surprise indicating that the majority of the perpetrators are individuals from the child's close circle, such as friends and relatives.
The repercussions of this tragedy did not stop at the boundaries of digital exploitation but extended to destroy the psychological stability of the victims. UNICEF confirmed that children subjected to online abuse are four times more likely to experience suicidal thoughts and self-harm compared to their peers, leaving silence and fear of shame as the biggest barriers to their rescue.
