برحيل الممثل السعودي عبدالرحمن عزت، تطوي الدراما السعودية صفحة أحد وجوه جيلها القديم؛ ذلك الجيل الذي صنع حضوره في زمن كانت الشاشة المحلية تشق طريقها، وتبني شخصياتها وحكاياتها بأدوات بسيطة وتجارب أصبحت لاحقاً جزءاً من ذاكرة المشاهد السعودي.
لم يكن عزت اسماً عابراً في تلك المرحلة، فقد امتدت مشاركاته عبر عقود، وارتبط جانب مهم من رحلته الفنية بالراحل محمد حمزة، أحد أبرز رواد الدراما السعودية، الذي وصفه عزت بـ«رفيق الدرب». علاقة تجاوزت الوقوف أمام الكاميرا إلى رحلة فنية جمعت الرجلين في مرحلة صنعت الأعمال التلفزيونية حضورها لدى الجمهور.
تنقل عزت بين شخصيات مختلفة، فشارك في «شكراً للظروف»، وجسد «لطفي» في «قصر فوق الرمال» عام 1992، وظهر بشخصية «صابر» في «البريق» عام 1993، قبل مشاركته في «بعض الناس» و«حكايات بابا فرحان 2».
ومع نهاية التسعينات وبداية الألفية، استمرت رحلته؛ فقدم شخصية «عصام» في «أين الطريق» عام 1999، ثم «حامد» في «دموع الرجال» عام 2000، وشارك في «زمن عماد» عام 2002. وبعد سنوات، عاد في «حارة الشيخ» عام 2016 بشخصية «المحتسب»، في عمل أعاد تقديم أجواء الحارة الحجازية القديمة.
وفي 2022، أعادت أمسية لجمعية الثقافة والفنون بجدة عبدالرحمن عزت إلى ذاكرة تلك المرحلة، حين احتفت بالراحل محمد حمزة وكرمت عزت بوسام الجمعية. يومها استعاد الفنان جانباً من ذكرياته مع رفيق مشواره، قبل أن يصبح رحيله اليوم فصلاً جديداً من وداع جيل ارتبط ببدايات الدراما المحلية.
رحل عبدالرحمن عزت، وبقيت شخصياته موزعة بين أعمال حملت ملامح زمنها، شاهدة على فنان عبر مراحل مختلفة من التلفزيون السعودي، وترك اسمه بين وجوه صنعت الذاكرة قبل زمن المنصات والإنتاجات الضخمة.
With the passing of Saudi actor Abdulrahman Izzat, Saudi drama turns a page on one of the faces of its old generation; that generation which made its presence felt at a time when the local screen was carving its path, building its characters and stories with simple tools and experiences that later became part of the memory of the Saudi viewer.
Izzat was not just a passing name during that period; his contributions spanned decades, and a significant part of his artistic journey was linked to the late Mohammed Hamza, one of the most prominent pioneers of Saudi drama, whom Izzat described as his "companion on the journey." Their relationship transcended standing in front of the camera to an artistic journey that brought the two men together in a phase that established television works in the audience's consciousness.
Izzat moved between different characters, participating in "Thank You for the Circumstances," portraying "Lotfi" in "A Palace Above the Sands" in 1992, and appearing as "Saber" in "The Shine" in 1993, before his roles in "Some People" and "Tales of Baba Farhan 2."
With the end of the nineties and the beginning of the new millennium, his journey continued; he presented the character "Issam" in "Where is the Road" in 1999, then "Hamid" in "Tears of Men" in 2000, and participated in "The Era of Imad" in 2002. Years later, he returned in "Harat Al-Sheikh" in 2016 as "Al-Muhtasib," in a work that reintroduced the atmosphere of the old Hijazi neighborhood.
In 2022, an evening organized by the Culture and Arts Association in Jeddah brought Abdulrahman Izzat back to the memory of that era, as it celebrated the late Mohammed Hamza and honored Izzat with the association's medal. That day, the artist recalled some of his memories with his journey companion, before his passing today marked a new chapter in bidding farewell to a generation that was linked to the beginnings of local drama.
Abdulrahman Izzat has passed away, but his characters remain distributed among works that carried the features of their time, witnessing an artist who traversed different stages of Saudi television, leaving his name among the faces that shaped memory before the era of platforms and massive productions.
