نجح فريق المركز السعودي لزراعة الأعضاء، خلال الأسبوع الماضي، في تنسيق أربع عمليات استئصال أعضاء من متبرعين متوفين دماغياً، أسهمت في إنقاذ حياة 14 مريضاً، بينهم أربعة أطفال، منهيةً معاناتهم مع أمراض الفشل العضوي. وجاءت هذه الجهود بالتعاون مع عدد من الجهات الطبية داخل المملكة وخارجها، شملت مستشفى جون هوبكنز أرامكو بالظهران، ومستشفى الإمام عبدالرحمن الفيصل، ومستشفى رفحاء المركزي، إضافة إلى مستشفى الملك عبدالعزيز بجدة.
وشملت العمليات ثلاث زراعات قلب كان أحدها لطفل أنهت معاناته مع الفشل القلبي، وثلاث زراعات كبد من بينها عملية لطفل يعاني من فشل كبدي، إضافة إلى زراعتين للرئة لمريضين آخرين، وخمس عمليات زراعة كلى أنهت معاناة طفلين ومريضين آخرين مع الفشل الكلوي وجلسات الغسل، فضلاً عن عملية زراعة كلية وبنكرياس لمريض أنهت معاناته مع فشل البنكرياس والفشل الكلوي.
وأكد المدير العام للمركز السعودي لزراعة الأعضاء الدكتور طلال القوفي، أن هذا النجاح جاء نتيجة للتعاون والتنسيق المشترك بين الجهات المعنية، مشيداً بجهود إدارة الإخلاء الطبي الجوي والفرق الطبية المشاركة، ومعبراً عن امتنانه لعوائل المتبرعين الذين آثروا التبرع بأعضاء ذويهم، داعياً الله أن يجزيهم خير الجزاء في الدنيا والآخرة.
The team at the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation successfully coordinated four organ removal surgeries from brain-dead donors last week, which contributed to saving the lives of 14 patients, including four children, ending their suffering from organ failure diseases. These efforts came in collaboration with several medical entities both inside and outside the Kingdom, including Johns Hopkins Aramco Hospital in Dhahran, Imam Abdulrahman Al Faisal Hospital, Rafha Central Hospital, in addition to King Abdulaziz Hospital in Jeddah.
The surgeries included three heart transplants, one of which was for a child who ended his suffering from heart failure, and three liver transplants, including one for a child suffering from liver failure, in addition to two lung transplants for two other patients, and five kidney transplants that ended the suffering of two children and two other patients with kidney failure and dialysis sessions, as well as a kidney and pancreas transplant for a patient that ended his suffering from pancreatic failure and kidney failure.
The Director General of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, Dr. Talal Al-Qufi, confirmed that this success came as a result of cooperation and joint coordination among the relevant parties, praising the efforts of the air medical evacuation management and the participating medical teams, and expressing his gratitude to the families of the donors who chose to donate their loved ones' organs, praying that God rewards them with the best in this world and the hereafter.
