طالبت منظمة الصحة العالمية بتوفير المزيد من الدعم على كل المستويات لمكافحة تفشي فايروس إيبولا في الكونغو الديمقراطية.
وأفاد المتحدث باسم المنظمة طارق ياساريفيتش أن فايروس إيبولا يتفشى متجاوزاً قدرات الاستجابة، مطالباً بمزيد من الدعم لتلبية حاجة المنظمة من حيث التمويل لتوسيع نطاق كل مجالات الاستجابة.
وأوضح أن الكونغو الديمقراطية سجلت 3,748 حالة مؤكدة بفايروس إيبولا، من بينها 1,657 حالة وفاة، فيما تعافى من المرض 708 مصابين، وتم رصد 227 حالة مشتبه بها مع مراقبة ما مجموعه 17 ألفاً من مخالطي الحالات، وخضوع أكثر من 80% منهم لفحوص يومية.
The World Health Organization has called for increased support at all levels to combat the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic reported that the Ebola virus is spreading beyond response capacities, urging for more support to meet the organization's funding needs to expand all areas of response.
He explained that the Democratic Republic of Congo has recorded 3,748 confirmed cases of the Ebola virus, including 1,657 deaths, while 708 patients have recovered from the disease. Additionally, 227 suspected cases have been identified, with a total of 17,000 contacts being monitored, over 80% of whom are undergoing daily testing.
