أعلنت الكونغو الديمقراطية، اليوم، ارتفاع حصيلة الإصابات بفايروس إيبولا في البلاد إلى 2,267 والوفيات إلى 893 شخصًا.
وذكرت وزارة الاتصال والإعلام الكونغولية أن إجمالي الحالات المؤكدة بفايروس إيبولا يبلغ 2,267 حالة، و893 حالة وفاة.
من جهتها، أعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية في 17 مايو الماضي، أن تفشي فايروس إيبولا في جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية وأوغندا يمثل حالة طوارئ، مُشيرةً إلى أنه يشكل خطرًا على دول أخرى، وتُقيّم المنظمة خطر انتشار الفايروس إقليميًا بأنه مرتفع.
وأطلقت منظمة الصحة العالمية والمركز الأفريقي للوقاية من الأمراض ومكافحتها، في 5 يونيو الماضي، خطة التأهب والاستجابة لوباء مرض فايروس بونديبوغيو (سلالة إيبولا)، ووفقًا للمدير العام للمنظمة تيدروس أدهانوم غيبريسوس، فإن تمويلها يتطلب 518 مليون دولار.

For its part, the World Health Organization announced on May 17 that the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda constitutes an emergency, indicating that it poses a risk to other countries, and the organization assesses the risk of the virus spreading regionally as high.
The World Health Organization and the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention launched a preparedness and response plan for the Bundibugyo virus disease (Ebola strain) on June 5, with the organization's Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stating that its funding requires $518 million.
