ارتفعت حصيلة ضحايا الزلزالين اللذين ضربا فنزويلا الشهر الماضي إلى 4829 قتيلًا.
وأوضح رئيس الجمعية الوطنية الفنزويلية خورخي رودريغيز، أن فرق الإنقاذ تواصل عمليات البحث عن المفقودين تحت الأنقاض بعد ثلاثة أسابيع من وقوع الزلزالين اللذين بلغت قوتهما 7.2 و7.5 درجات، وأحدثا دمارًا واسعًا في ولاية لا غوايرا الساحلية.
وأشار إلى أن 20 ألفًا و857 متضررًا يقيمون في مخيمات تفتقر في معظمها إلى إمدادات المياه وأنظمة صرف صحي فاعلة، فيما بلغ عدد المصابين 16 ألفًا و740 شخصًا، غادر معظمهم المستشفيات بعد تلقي العلاج.
The death toll from the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela last month has risen to 4,829 fatalities.
Jorge Rodríguez, the president of the Venezuelan National Assembly, explained that rescue teams continue their search for missing persons under the rubble three weeks after the earthquakes, which had magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, causing widespread destruction in the coastal state of La Guaira.
He noted that 20,857 affected individuals are residing in camps that mostly lack water supplies and effective sanitation systems, while the number of injured has reached 16,740 people, most of whom have left hospitals after receiving treatment.
