لقي 10 أشخاص، بينهم قائد الطائرة، مقتلهم إثر تحطم طائرة في جزر البهاما، تزامناً مع احتفالات البلاد بعيد الاستقلال أمس.
وقال رئيس وزراء البهاما فيليب دافيس، خلال مؤتمر صحفي: «إن ما كان يُفترض أن يكون يوماً للاحتفال تحول إلى يوم تأبين».
ولم تكشف السلطات حتى الآن جنسيات الضحايا، فيما تواصل التحقيقات للوقوف على ملابسات الحادثة.
ووقعت الحادثة في الجزء الشمالي من أرخبيل أندروس، أكبر مجموعات الجزر في البهاما الواقعة بالمحيط الأطلسي شمال كوبا.
Ten people, including the pilot, were killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas, coinciding with the country's Independence Day celebrations yesterday.
Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis said during a press conference: "What was supposed to be a day of celebration has turned into a day of mourning."
The authorities have not yet disclosed the nationalities of the victims, while investigations continue to determine the circumstances of the incident.
The incident occurred in the northern part of the Andros archipelago, the largest group of islands in the Bahamas located in the Atlantic Ocean north of Cuba.
