أعلنت السلطات الفرنسية عن تعافي أول مريض مصاب بفايروس إيبولا على أراضيها وخروجه من المستشفى بعد تلقيه الرعاية الطبية اللازمة.
وأوضحت وزيرة الصحة الفرنسية ستيفاني ريست، في بيان صدر السبت، أن المريض وهو طبيب يعمل في المجال الإنساني، عاد إلى فرنسا في 23 يونيو قادماً من جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية، التي تشهد حالياً تفشياً واسعاً للفايروس، قبل أن يُنقل إلى المستشفى فور الاشتباه بإصابته.
وأكدت الوزيرة أن حالة المريض لم تكن مصحوبة بأعراض حادة، مشيرة إلى أنه خضع لمتابعة طبية دقيقة ورعاية صحية متواصلة، ما سمح باستقرار حالته وتماثله للشفاء، ليغادر المستشفى لاحقاً ويعود إلى منزله وهو في وضع صحي جيد.
ويأتي هذا التطور في وقت تواجه فيه جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية موجة جديدة من تفشي فايروس إيبولا منذ منتصف مايو الماضي، وسط تحديات كبيرة في احتواء انتشار المرض.
وبحسب بيانات رسمية صادرة في الثاني من يوليو، فقد أسفر التفشي عن 1406 إصابات مؤكدة، بينها ما لا يقل عن 438 حالة وفاة، ما يعكس خطورة الوضع الصحي هناك واستمرار الجهود الدولية لاحتواء الوباء ومنع انتقاله إلى دول أخرى.
The French authorities announced the recovery of the first patient infected with the Ebola virus on their territory and his discharge from the hospital after receiving the necessary medical care.
French Health Minister Stéphanie Rist explained in a statement issued on Saturday that the patient, a doctor working in the humanitarian field, returned to France on June 23 coming from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is currently experiencing a widespread outbreak of the virus, before being transferred to the hospital upon suspicion of infection.
The minister confirmed that the patient's condition was not accompanied by severe symptoms, noting that he underwent careful medical monitoring and continuous healthcare, which allowed for the stabilization of his condition and his recovery, leading him to leave the hospital later and return home in good health.
This development comes at a time when the Democratic Republic of the Congo is facing a new wave of Ebola virus outbreak since mid-May, amid significant challenges in containing the spread of the disease.
According to official data released on July 2, the outbreak has resulted in 1,406 confirmed cases, including at least 438 deaths, reflecting the seriousness of the health situation there and the ongoing international efforts to contain the epidemic and prevent its spread to other countries.
