كان الصمت يلف رحلة حج بوذية هادئة في مقاطعة «موكداهان» بشمال شرق تايلند، قبل أن تتحول في ثوانٍ معدودة إلى مسرح لمجزرة مرعبة وشلال من الدماء صدمت المجتمع المحلي اليوم.
لم يكن وراء هذه الحادثة الدموية جماعة مسلحة أو سائق مخمور، بل المفاجأة الصادمة التي فجرتها الشرطة التايلندية هي أن المسؤول عن إنهاء حياة 10 رهبان بوذيين ودهس 10 آخرين هو طفل صغير لم يتجاوز الـ 11 من عمره! فكيف بدأت هذه الكارثة؟
بدأ الكابوس خلف الأبواب المغلقة لمنزل الطفل، حيث استغل الصغير غفلة والديه وغياب رقابتهما، وتسلل ليسرق مفاتيح شاحنة العائلة الضخمة.
أدار الطفل المحرك وقاد المركبة الثقيلة في الشوارع بدون إذن، وفي لحظة طيش وعدم إدراك، سار بالشاحنة نحو طريق سريع كان يشهد مسيرة دينية تضم 35 راهباً وخمسة من أتباعهم يسيرون على جانبي الطريق.
وكشف قائد الشرطة المحلية بايروج تايفوتسا أن الطفل لقلة خبرته وصغر سنه فقد السيطرة تماماً على مقود الشاحنة، لتنحرف بسرعة جنونية وتقتحم موكب الرهبان بعنف وتدهسهم واحداً تلو الآخر وسط صراخ وتطاير الأجساد.
في موقع الحادثة، تحولت المنطقة لساحة إعدام جماعي، حيث لقي 5 رهبان مصرعهم فوراً وسُحقت عظامهم تحت الإطارات.
وإلى المستشفى نُقل البقية في حالة أشبه بالاحتضار، ليلفظ 5 آخرون أنفاسهم الأخيرة متأثرين بجراحهم، ليرتفع العدد إلى 10 قتلى.
وأعلن مستشفى «موكداهان» أن الطواقم الطبية تسابق الزمن الآن لإنقاذ 10 مصابين آخرين ما زالوا يتلقون العلاج، اثنان منهم في حالة حرجة جداً.
وفيما تحفظت السلطات على الشاحنة لفحصها تقنياً، فجرت الشرطة بركان الغضب بوجه عائلة الطفل، حيث تم استدعاء الوالدين رسمياً للتحقيق لتحديد المسؤول عن هذا الإهمال الجسيم وترك مفاتيح شاحنة قاتلة بيد طفل قاصر، تمهيداً لمحاكمتهما بتهم قاسية قد توقعهما خلف القضبان لسنوات بسبب هذه الفاجعة التي زلزلت الرأي العام المحلي.
The silence enveloped a peaceful Buddhist pilgrimage in the "Mukdahan" province of northeastern Thailand, before it transformed in mere seconds into a stage for a horrifying massacre and a cascade of blood that shocked the local community today.
This bloody incident was not caused by an armed group or a drunk driver, but the shocking revelation from the Thai police was that the one responsible for ending the lives of 10 Buddhist monks and running over 10 others was a small child not yet 11 years old! So how did this catastrophe begin?
The nightmare started behind the closed doors of the child's home, where the little one took advantage of his parents' negligence and absence of supervision, sneaking out to steal the keys to the family's massive truck.
The child started the engine and drove the heavy vehicle through the streets without permission, and in a moment of recklessness and lack of awareness, he steered the truck towards a highway that was witnessing a religious procession of 35 monks and five of their followers walking along the roadside.
Local police chief Pairog Taivutsa revealed that due to the child's inexperience and young age, he completely lost control of the truck's steering wheel, causing it to veer wildly and violently crash into the procession of monks, running them over one by one amidst screams and flying bodies.
At the scene of the incident, the area turned into a site of mass execution, where 5 monks died instantly, their bones crushed beneath the tires.
The rest were taken to the hospital in a state resembling that of dying, with 5 others gasping their last breaths due to their injuries, raising the death toll to 10.
Mukdahan Hospital announced that medical teams are racing against time now to save 10 other injured individuals who are still receiving treatment, two of whom are in very critical condition.
While the authorities retained the truck for technical inspection, the police unleashed a volcano of anger towards the child's family, as the parents were officially summoned for questioning to determine who was responsible for this gross negligence and for leaving the keys to a deadly truck in the hands of a minor, paving the way for their prosecution on serious charges that could land them behind bars for years due to this tragedy that has shaken public opinion locally.
