ارتفعت حصيلة ضحايا الزلزال المدمر الذي ضرب فنزويلا إلى 1430 قتيلاً، فيما لا تزال فرق الإنقاذ تواصل عمليات البحث عن ناجين وانتشال الضحايا من تحت الأنقاض، وسط تحذيرات رسمية من احتمال ارتفاع أعداد القتلى خلال الأيام القادمة.
حصيلة متزايدة
وأعلن رئيس الجمعية الوطنية الفنزويلية خورخي رودريغيز أن أحدث حصيلة رسمية أسفرت عن مقتل 1430 شخصاً وإصابة 3238 آخرين، مؤكداً استمرار عمليات البحث والإنقاذ في المناطق الأكثر تضرراً، مع وصول الفرق المختصة إلى مواقع جديدة دمرها الزلزال.
وأضاف أن آلاف الأسر تضررت جراء الكارثة، فيما تواصل السلطات تنفيذ عمليات الإغاثة في الولايات المنكوبة، وعلى رأسها ولاية لا غوايرا الساحلية.
هزات تعرقل الإنقاذ
وجاء الإعلان عن الحصيلة الجديدة بعد يوم واحد فقط من الأرقام السابقة، ما يعكس اتساع حجم الكارثة مع استمرار انتشال الضحايا، في وقت تعرقل الهزات الارتدادية جهود فرق الإنقاذ، وتزيد المخاوف من انهيار مبانٍ متصدعة.
مساعدات دولية
وتواصل الحكومة الفنزويلية، بالتعاون مع فرق إنقاذ محلية ودولية، عمليات الإغاثة والبحث عن المفقودين، بالتزامن مع وصول مساعدات إنسانية وفرق متخصصة من عدة دول لتقديم الدعم الطبي واللوجستي للمتضررين.
أعنف كارثة منذ قرن
وضرب فنزويلا زلزالان قويان بلغت شدتهما 7.2 و7.5 درجة بفارق ثوانٍ فقط، في واحدة من أعنف الكوارث الطبيعية التي تشهدها البلاد منذ أكثر من قرن.
وتسببت الهزتان في انهيار مئات المباني وإلحاق أضرار واسعة بالبنية التحتية، خصوصاً في العاصمة كاراكاس وولاية لا غوايرا على الساحل الشمالي، كما أعقبتهما مئات الهزات الارتدادية.
وأعلنت السلطات حالة الطوارئ عقب الزلزال، وسط تحذيرات من أن ارتفاع أعداد المفقودين وصعوبة الوصول إلى بعض المناطق قد يدفعان حصيلة الضحايا إلى الارتفاع مع استمرار عمليات البحث.

The President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, announced that the latest official toll revealed that 1,430 people have been killed and 3,238 others injured, confirming that search and rescue operations are ongoing in the most affected areas, with specialized teams reaching new sites devastated by the earthquake.
He added that thousands of families have been affected by the disaster, while authorities continue to carry out relief operations in the stricken states, primarily in the coastal state of La Guaira.
Aftershocks Hamper Rescue Efforts
The announcement of the new toll came just one day after the previous figures, reflecting the expanding scale of the disaster as the recovery of victims continues, at a time when aftershocks are hindering the efforts of rescue teams and increasing fears of collapsing damaged buildings.
International Aid
The Venezuelan government, in cooperation with local and international rescue teams, continues its relief operations and the search for the missing, coinciding with the arrival of humanitarian aid and specialized teams from several countries to provide medical and logistical support to those affected.
Worst Disaster in a Century
Venezuela was struck by two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude just seconds apart, in one of the most severe natural disasters the country has experienced in over a century.
The two quakes caused the collapse of hundreds of buildings and extensive damage to infrastructure, particularly in the capital Caracas and the coastal state of La Guaira, and were followed by hundreds of aftershocks.
The authorities declared a state of emergency following the earthquake, amid warnings that the rising number of missing persons and the difficulty in accessing some areas could drive the death toll higher as search operations continue.
