شهدت القاهرة حادثة مأساوية بعدما تُوفي طفل يبلغ من العمر ثلاث سنوات؛ إثر نسيانه داخل سيارة والده لعدة ساعات، في واقعة هزّت الرأي العام وأعادت تسليط الضوء على مخاطر ترك الأطفال داخل المركبات خلال الصيف.
وبحسب ما نقلته وسائل إعلام مصرية، كان الأب قد خرج صباحاً لتوصيل طفله إلى الحضانة بعد متابعته مباراة منتخب مصر أمام نيوزيلندا، إلا أن الصغير غطّ في نومٍ عميقٍ بالمقعد الخلفي، ما جعل الأب ينسى وجهته ويتوجه مباشرة إلى مقر عمله في منطقة التجمع الخامس. وبعد ركن السيارة وإغلاقها بالكامل، غادر الأب دون أن ينتبه إلى وجود طفله داخل المركبة في ظل ارتفاع درجات الحرارة.
ولم تُكتشف الكارثة إلا بعد ساعات، عندما اتصلت الحضانة بالأم للاستفسار عن غياب الطفل، لتتواصل بدورها مع الأب الذي أصيب بصدمة فور تذكّره أنه ترك طفله داخل السيارة. وعند عودته مسرعاً، وجد الصغير قد فارق الحياة اختناقاً نتيجة الحرارة الخانقة داخل المركبة المغلقة.
وباشرت الجهات المختصة تحقيقاتها في الواقعة، واتخذت الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة للوقوف على ملابسات الحادث الذي أثار موجة واسعة من الحزن والغضب، وسط دعوات لتشديد التوعية بمخاطر ترك الأطفال داخل السيارات ولو لدقائق معدودة.

According to Egyptian media reports, the father had left in the morning to take his child to nursery after watching the Egyptian national team's match against New Zealand, but the little one fell into a deep sleep in the back seat, causing the father to forget his destination and head directly to his workplace in the Fifth Settlement area. After parking the car and completely locking it, the father left without noticing his child was still inside the vehicle amid rising temperatures.
The tragedy was not discovered until hours later, when the nursery called the mother to inquire about the child's absence, prompting her to contact the father, who was shocked as soon as he remembered he had left his child in the car. Upon his hurried return, he found the little one had died from suffocation due to the stifling heat inside the closed vehicle.
The relevant authorities have begun their investigations into the incident and have taken the necessary legal actions to understand the circumstances surrounding the accident, which has sparked a widespread wave of sadness and anger, along with calls to intensify awareness of the dangers of leaving children inside cars, even for just a few minutes.
