أثار مقطع فيديو يوثق عملية سطو دراماتيكية على جهاز صرف آلي بمدينة رامزي في مقاطعة كامبريدجشير البريطانية، فجر الثلاثاء، تفاعلاً واسعاً وجدلاً كبيراً على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، نظراً للجرأة والطريقة غير التقليدية التي نُفذت بها الجريمة.
وأظهرت لقطات كاميرات المراقبة، التي تداولها رواد مواقع التواصل، سيارتين متوقفتين بالقرب من فرع بنك "نيشن وايد" للبناء والادخار، قبل أن تقتحم المشهد رافعة شوكية ضخمة بدأت بالاصطدام بواجهة المبنى بقوة وعدة مرات متتالية، بهدف اقتلاع الصراف الآلي من جذوره. وفور نجاح العملية، ظهر رجال ملثمون قاموا على عجل بتحميل الجهاز الثقيل في شاحنة والفرار سريعاً من المكان، يتبعهم رجلان آخران استقلا سيارة ثانية بعد إتمام المهمة.
من جانبه، أوضح المتحدث باسم شرطة كامبريدجشير أن التحريات الأولية تشير إلى أن الرافعة الشوكية المستخدمة في الهجوم كانت مسروقة، مؤكداً تورط مركبتين أخريين في تنفيذ المخطط. كما لفتت الشرطة إلى أن شاحنة تابعة لأحد المخابز صودف مرورها في موقع الحادث أثناء تحميل الصراف الآلي، لا علاقة لها بالسرقة على الإطلاق.
وفي المقابل، أكدت إدارة بنك "نيشن وايد" علمها بالحادث الذي استهدف فرعها، مشيرة إلى أنها تعمل حالياً على معالجة الأضرار بهدف إعادة فتح الفرع خلال الأيام المقبلة واستبدال جهاز الصراف الآلي المتضرر في أقرب وقت. هذا، وقد دعت الشرطة البريطانية كل من يملك تسجيلات لكاميرات المراقبة المنزلية أو كاميرات السيارات، أو من رصد أي تحركات مشبوهة في المنطقة، إلى التواصل معها فوراً لفك خيوط هذه الجريمة المنظمة.
A video documenting a dramatic robbery of an ATM in Ramsey, in the British county of Cambridgeshire, sparked widespread interaction and significant controversy on social media platforms early Tuesday, due to the audacity and unconventional method used to carry out the crime.
Surveillance camera footage, shared by social media users, showed two cars parked near a "Nationwide" building society branch, before a massive forklift suddenly entered the scene, crashing into the building's facade forcefully and repeatedly, with the aim of uprooting the ATM. Once the operation was successful, masked men hurriedly loaded the heavy machine into a truck and quickly fled the scene, followed by two other men who got into a second vehicle after completing the task.
For its part, a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police explained that initial investigations indicate that the forklift used in the attack was stolen, confirming the involvement of two other vehicles in executing the plan. The police also noted that a truck belonging to a bakery happened to pass by the incident site while the ATM was being loaded, and it had no connection to the robbery at all.
In response, the management of "Nationwide" confirmed its awareness of the incident targeting its branch, indicating that they are currently working to address the damages with the aim of reopening the branch in the coming days and replacing the damaged ATM as soon as possible. Additionally, the British police have called on anyone who has recordings from home surveillance cameras or dashcams, or who has observed any suspicious movements in the area, to contact them immediately to unravel the threads of this organized crime.
